Cats & Vets In Phuket

Featured Replies

I'm looking to aquire a kitten, though the only availability seems to be Persian or other exoctic breeds that sell for 3-8000BHT. I was thinking of free. I keep asking for meow thammada, but no one seems to understand "why" someone would want a thai cat. Any information on availability, I've checked the markets and pet stores, everyone is dog crazy here no cats.

My second question would be where in Phuket central area is a good vet for vaccinations?

There are several shelters and kind souls that do look out for felines. May I suggest you start in the pets/vets section of TV. Those people always know someone or somewhere to go. I wish you much luck and happiness.

Check Phuket Animal Welfare Society website:

http://www.phuket-animal-welfare.com/adopt_pet.htm

Quote: "Adopt a Pet

With the help of our static clinic, PAWS is now able to actively promote its 'Adopt a Pet' programme, which finds new homes for stray dogs and cats in Phuket. Through advertisements, the website and word of mouth, PAWS has been relocating more than 76 animals since January 2005 ! The new owner will be briefed on the medical history of the animal, it's behaviour and anxieties as well as the best ways to feed, clean and look after the animal. Of course, the animal will receive all the necessary vaccinations and will be sterilized/castrated prior to its relocation.

The new owner and PAWS's responsibilities do not stop here: every six months the vet will make an assessment whether the animal is looked after in its best interest. PAWS provides free health care (including operations when being necessary) throughout the animal's life to make sure that a relocated animal is looked after properly. "

Hallo,

the one vet I know is beside Promphan Supermarket on Chao Fa West Road (abt. 2 km down from Cental Festival, Phuket)

Vaxinations

Sorry I don't know all the road names

The Dog and Cat Vet: Down the street from the lotus intersection like your heading towards BKK Hospital at the first set of lights turn left and it's in the middle of the row of shop houses on your right.

Matta Animal clinic: On the same road as Watirua Hospital and BKK hospital Will be on the eastern side of the road, 3-story tall white shop house (stands alone so easy to pick out) on opposite side of the street is a Carrier and other brands Air-Con shop.

Rasattic (sp?) Animal hospital: On the road form the Phuket Merlin hotel intersection to the School/Stadium road that leads out to the Central intersection.

Clinic is small and on the northern side of the road on a slight hill and has about 10 steps up to the lobby. you will see dog grooming in front.

Yes go to PAWS in Chalong. Easy to find and they always have kittens. Likewise so do most temples as well and if you contact Soi Dogs or PAWS they can probably point you in the right direction.

They will also neuter your pet and give it shops. I can recomend dr. ANucha, he is the male doctor, at Chalong Animal hospital on Chaofa Road. Big yellow building.

I was at Latinos Mexican food the other night and there was a very nice looking abbysinian mix looking older kitten that they said needed a home.Friendly too.

Also I recomend to get 2, as they usually do better in pairs and keep each other entertained.
