I missed out a highly important bit. I am wrong and I apologise. It is meant to read"...regardless where you are phsyically going to be prior to entering Thailand..." I even misspelled "physically", so much for proof-reading before posting. The point is, this man and his father seem to be leaving France (admittedly at different times) and going to Malaysia first, then entering Thailand by sea. He goes to the website in his home country for the visa - I assume he hasn't left yet and is still there, in France? My point was don't try to get a Thai e-Visa in Malaysia as you have no idea how long that could take and could mess up hotel and transport bookings. And we don't how long the son or father is gong to be in Malaysia before entering Thailand, either. A single entry visa is valid for three month, so both of them (albeit at different times it seems the son is going to Malaysia first) should apply for a single entry tourist visa and ensure that they each enter Thailand before the visa expires. A tourist visa is cheaper than a Non-Imm O, doesn't require proof of funds of 24,000 Euro, and gives them both the chance to extend for another thirty days. If I'm an Argentinian citizen living in Buenos Aires, and am going to Thailand for an extended holiday in a couple of months requiring a 60-day e-visa, but stopping off for a few weeks in Belgium and Turkey on the way, I still apply for my Thai e-visa in, as long as I enter Thailand within three months of the date of approval. I don't need to wait until I get to Turkey to apply. It doesn't matter where you are physically immediately prior to entering Thailand. And of course, I'm not promoting visa fraud. I'made an honest mistake by not proofreading prior to submitting the post. Again, I apologise.
