It says you have to download it from the Play store...you will probably also have to go to your local branch and have them fiddle about a bit..I don't think foreigners are barred.

well maybe if you are not in Thailand at the moment ??

Actually it says he didn’t download it from the play store. So if I’m reading that correctly, he should delete the app he has, go to the play store, and download the authentic app. Look for the developer inform if in doubt.

Another thing I've noticed with K-Biz is that you cannot have a VPN active when logging on or K-Biz app will not start. I use Ad-Guard app on my mobile and must turn it off before I start K-Biz or I

All my info is updated including passport and facial recognition as of November last year. I'm still unable to register for the k-biz and a bank visit will be required. My K-Bank app is still working (for now) so no hurry. I just can't log into the website now without the K-biz

FWIW, I had no problem downloading The K-Biz app, setting up my account, and doing facial recognition scans at home on my phone (iPhone). See my other longer post about that if you like. You might want to try again. Might save you a trip into the bank.

Both the K-Plus and the K-Biz apps are like that. This is also true with UOB Bank. I don’t understand their logic but that’s where we are.

As others have stated use the Kplus app on mobile not the Kbiz app.

That’s not correct. If the OP (or anyone) wants to do online banking (computer + bank website) they now need to have the K-Biz app to do the 2FA process KBank now uses. The K-Plus app doesn’t have that.

See my longer post for details if you wish.

I have had the K BIZ app for many years and log in from the Philippines to transfer money and check my balance before a trip.

The last time was 4 months ago but now tho it accepts my account info etc says it can't connect me until I attend a branch for facial recognition. Heading back on 23rd so will do that.

You might want to try setting it up again. I just did it a few days ago in my iPhone. I was able to do the facial recognition scans myself. No need to go into the bank. But of course YMMV.

Passport on record updated.

New ATM debit card issued.

New bank book issued.

Kplus app installed and set up on my phone.

KBiz app updated and facial recognition sorted.

1 Hr all in, was actually a pleasant experience.

I did this last year for Kplus and new bank books and facial recognition with exact same pp I own now, but I did not do KBiz app at that time. This month I cannot log into KBank which is now KBiz web site on a PC without the new KBiz app on phone. Cannot install the app as it says pp is not correct even tho I was doing all this just last year for new security updates of KPLus with same pp? They seem to have no connection of current pp with latest KBiz app? I am now in process of getting a new pp so I will go to bank when it arrives and redo everything I did last year again.

Thanks everybody, I will leave it a few days, try again, if still not working I will just use another local bank account that does not have this two stage login

Kbiz and Kplus defo not connected within the bank.

Had to do the full gamut for both.

I had additional issue of Kbiz was linked to old passport, was not a simple update to new passport, took the lady a few calls to I do not know who to sort it out.

log into kbiz with old passport.

who ever that other person was was then able to delete the Kbiz profile link to old PP.

Then re-apply for Kbiz using new PP... then was able to log in.

Prolly does not affect many but I also had to produce my tax ID and my work permit, not an issue I had them too... I think these may havebeen required due to my credit card.

Sorry for blaming kbank, they did come back to me and I think the problem is with my phone - it was certified, but now it's not

AFAIK you need the K Biz app to log into internet banking on a computer.

Barking madness on Kbank's part par excellence if you ask me. Hopefully BBL won't inflict similar pain and misery on those of its account holders who, like myself, much prefer to continue using their internet banking service over struggling to make their mobile app work.

I hope I’m wrong but I foresee a day when Thai banks eliminate all their online banking platforms in favor of mobile apps. Why? Because it’s a PITA for them to support so many OS - macOS, Windows, Android, iOS, and perhaps a few more.

Or, maybe not if they’d getting pushback from businesses and commercial accounts.

The K Plus mobile app is great, I use it for nearly all my expenditure. I also keep K Biz on my pc, and accessing that is now slightly clunky. Put in username and password, and up comes a QR code. Hit K Biz app on mobile phone, put in pin then up comes the option to scan QR code. Scan with phone, and the account is live on the pc. It's not a dealbreaker for me, as I don't use K Biz very much, only if I want a statement or something like that. But it is bizarre, having two different apps for the same account.

I fear that you could well turn out to be right. I suspect that the driving force behind all this is more likely to be the Bank of Thailand as regulators for the Thai banking sector rather than the individual banks themselves.

The irony is that not a single bank in my home country (UK) is, to the best of my knowledge, going down a similar path of forcing mobile apps on their account holders in place of online services.

Atom Bank.

Chase UK.

Kroo

But the difference is, I think, that these have never offered online access, only an app, whereas the Thai banks have chosen to remove web access.

Yes that's correct and I will probably eventually go through the process of face scan at a branch (there is no Branch within 50 km of where I live) to continue using the K Biz app on my PC should I so desire.

However for the past 6 months or so I have simply used the K Plus app on my mobile as it's simpler and faster.

Even if I do resurrect my ability to use the K Biz app on computer I can't currently envisage any circumstances where I would use it instead of the K Plus app on mobile.

I don't do any banking on my phone so the K-Biz is a must for me.

Looks like it's slowly moving that way, although I think the functions here are still maintained on the regular Barclay's Bank site, so maybe just a slimming down rather than outright removal.
