Music slow to load on infotainment system.

Featured Replies

My Mitsu Triton still plays CD's and as soon as I turn the ignition key the CD will play almost instantly from where it finished last.

I just bought a 2020 Suzuki Swift that has an infotainment system that only plays radio or files from phone or USB stick, and it seems to take forever to restart where the last song finished once it's powered on.

How can I get music as soon as I turn on the ignition, or is that not possible?

Never turn the ignition off... when you arrive home connect to a battery charger.😳

You have all the information required to determine what needs to happen to get the audio output to start sooner. It is obvious that upon startup, the audio unit needs to perform some action to determine what to play. ALL solutions require a change in the functionality of the audio unit or that power to the unit is ALWAYS available.

You could bypass the ignition switch and directly connect the the audio unit to the battery. You would probably also need to leave the audio unit turned on. To facilitate instant startup, some electronics DO consume a small amount of current even when the power switch is off. I doubt your audio unit has that functionality. This solution introduces more problems such as battery depletion.

Copy your music to a fresh USB stick, it’s possible your USB stick is damaged and it’s having to re-index it every time

The reason for the delay is it is reindexing the USB device. I have a Kenwood after market unit in my Nissan and use an old iPod always connected in the vehicle, I never have any issues. I would say there isn't anything you can do as the Swift's Info Tainment system automatically re-index on every start. As one responder mentioned, I'd reformat the USB drive in FAT not a windows NTFS or Mac APFS (proprietary formats) This may be causing the issue.

As others say, possible USB drive issue. I had a USB drive that the infotainment system had problems with. Often had to unplug it and insert again to get it to play. Bought a new SanDisk USB drive and works fine.

USB already FAT, so it must just be the system.
