Yep, agree! Also, Pai was hill tribe, but the mass invasion has now made it Muslim territory. 😂

What do all the Israelis think about that?

PKK has a lot more farangs now than 15 years ago. It is starting to impact on the city. The Thais are becoming less friendly.

Foreigners are creatures of habit, thus having a solid routine so easily avoidable 😁

40 million...come on do your sums again (thats actually half the population Thailand)

Yea, let that sink in. OK, he rounded up a bit, but 39.8M in 2019, then about 3 yrs of scamdemic BLISS. Now back to 35+M, almost 33M last year, so yea, half the population.

Most going to the same congested places, which in many Thais mind use to be nice, before ruined by tourist.

Don't know about the friendliest, but, have not been in an unfriendly town yet. I learned you usually receive what you project.

Maybe the towns, are not the problem coffee1

Indeed- I find that you tend to get what you give out

A friendly smile and respect normally provokes the same

Living in a small village near Udon Thani I receive kindness and politeness every day

We've traveled all over Thailand and every place we visited has been friendly--from Chiang Mai in the north to Hat Yai in the south. And, not just friendly but also helpful, too, in many cases.

I don't think too many Americans in the US, including me when I lived in the US, strike up conversations out of the blue with fellow American strangers. My Thai spouse does it all the time here in Thailand.

Every second topic you post is about strangers talking to you, looking at you, asking questions, sitting at your table, commenting on your luggage, asking about your nail polish, or generally failing to leave you alone.

Now suddenly you are looking for the friendliest town in Thailand.

For heaven’s sake, pick a lane, sister.

The ideal location for you appears to be a place where everyone is extremely friendly but also never speaks to you.

A sort of socially advanced village where people wave from a safe distance, admire your high viz vest, respect your toothpaste analysis work, acknowledge you are on an important data collection mission, and then immediately bugger off before conversation becomes necessary.

I suspect if you moved to the friendliest village in Thailand, by day three there would be a new topic.

“Why do all these friendly people keep saying hello to me?”

Then another.

“Why can’t people in my village simply leave other people alone?”

Then another.

“Extroverts need boundaries. Too much friendliness is no good.”

Personally I think the friendliest place for you would be a small island with three residents.

One retired bookshop owner.

One ladyboy, maybe two just in case extra assistance is required.

And one sweaty expat in a Chang singlet living quietly in a one bedroom dump at least 300 meters away.

That gives you enough people for statistical analysis without becoming overwhelmed by unnecessary social interaction.

Perfect balance, girlfriend.

Friendly enough to observe.

Not friendly enough to actually interact.

Be nice this I think is his month

Hehas a lot of PRIDE

40m over 12 months are spread out. Many Thais don't deal with them. Only in the busy spots. The busy spots have more nightlife and more dirtbags.

Bogan Boy will be here tomorrow dissing people who live in Nakorn nowhere.

As he frequently does. Calling them hermits. But let’s enjoy his transitory love of salt of the Earth rice farmers.

He doesn’t believe anything at all, except that we should listen raptly to the sound of his autistic ramblings.

His love of imaginary and somehow pure and untouched Thai people would’ve been fresh news in 1975.

I’m going to have fun taking his new cry baby whining about toxic people apart in the next couple of days.

And then like his OCD demanding to know what people’s hobbbbbiiies are, and calling people gay, he will say it no more.

Why are you discussing the member rather than the topic?

More friendly than people on here.

Because he is a weirdo.

Because it’s fun to slap around a would-be bully.

But whatever, I’ll hang back and let him say something stupid like his candy bar in the vagina routine and then have a little fun with it, get bored, and then smack them around for the next retard thing he says.

It’s great that he’s always here for me.

You are talking to a computer screen. You are a weirdo and a coward. In real life you would never talk like that. You are a sad excuse for a human.

Na Di is a district, not a town, and probably one in every province, if not Amphurs. We live in Na Di, Udon Thani, Ban Nong Kae, near Kut Ling Ngor (lake).

Who is Lana?

Who is Lana?

IDK.

Lan in Thai equals One Trillion

Na in Thai is equivalent to the song.....Na na na na....

In Lana, up north here, most people retain their childlike qualities.

This is why Lana is such a great place.

Do you trust them swinging machetes? See them all the time chopping off brush along the roadside and in the rice swamps with machetes giving me a look with a grin. Scary people these northerners, no telling what’s going on behind that smile and what they’ll do to a farang if close enough. Best advice is to just don’t even bother coming up here.

Thank you for the advice.
