Sounds like they put a negotiating point out there.

Peacetime 20 millions barrels of oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz a day. Which means a tanker "convenience" fee of even $1/barrel translates to more than 7 billion a year. As they say, to the victor goes the spoils of war.

Pool the Strait's fee bonanza with unsanctioned unlimited oil income and the $300 billion investment fund, Iran's going to be one heckuva powerful country. One heckuva powerful country that wants to kick Israeli ass. That old Madagascar Plan is beginning to look better by the day isn't it, Ashkenazis?

Simply proves, as we all should know by now, Iran (most govts) simply can't be trusted.

No prob, start bombing the sh!t out of them again coffee1

I'm confused......is this toll going to more or less than they use to charge before Trump bombed seven shades out of them?

Yet another Trump tariff the consumer pays.

G AI snapshot, sourced from BBC, so take it with a grain of salt, though probably true ...

The Strait of Hormuz before the recent conflict, historically, transit through the international waterway was free and governed by the right of transit passage under international law.

Neither Iran nor the Don can be trusted. They know that the $300 billion investment is likely an empty promise and are organising an alternative source of revenues.

But you trust Iran of the US government, yes?

Can you rephrase the question? 😀

The 300B is coming from their Arab neighbors, so not the best idea to be charging fees, violated international marine 'protocols'.

Wonder if the Iranian president agrees with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf statement of fees after 60 days ?

Oh well, who cares, let them fight it out, at negotiating table or 'war rooms'. Doesn't matter to me. There will always be a conflict somewhere.

No Arab State has committed to fund anything. It's Trump promising others' money, as usual. 😃

iran rebuilding its air power from russia

Just days after announcing a peace deal with the United States, Iranian officials visited Moscow to sign a deal to purchase 20 Russian helicopters for its “logistics and aerial rescue fleet,” Iranian state news wires announced on Wednesday, as the country already begins pursuing business deals with Russia and rebuilding its fleet of aircraft.

This is completely false.

The 300 Billion dollar fund is a private enterprise with commitments from firms around the world including the US. I am sure we will hear more about this when journalists figure out the complex maze of cash flows and favours.

The MoU specifically states no fees for 60 days. The Iranians made it clear they will charge after that. This is not a surprise.

Typically Trump supporter response in the final paragraph. First lie, second, insult the source (you appear to have politely skipped that step, thank you) and when the lie is totally exposed, walk away saying you don't care.

I would also point out there was no conflict in the Persian Gulf until Netanyahu and Trump started one. The US taxpayer would be around 80 Billion dollars better off if they hadn't bothered.

No, it was just you trying to put words in others' mouth!

You do that a lot! 😃

Simply proves, as we all should know by now, that Trump is an imbecile and has no clue what he is doing.

If he hadn't "bombed the <deleted>" out of them there would have been no tariff, no oil crisis, no rise in fuel costs, no dead school girls, everything would have been just fine.

But yeah, start bombing them again, genius.

They should start a loyalty card for the new world - two passages - get one free , on Muslim holy days do a 20% off offer. And on the anniversary of Ayatollah's Khameinis ignominious death do a top deal 40% off but your ship has to have a huge poster on it's side celebrating his life - which must stay on until it reaches it's destination to get the discount. Oh and on the anniversary of the start of the invasion have a massive son et lumiere show over the Straits - saying thank you President Trump !
