Why would any rationally thinking adult want to live in the US today?
If I were still there, I'd leave today. Until the Rule of Law is re-established, there is nothing about the US that would even make me consider visiting!
MAGA, and its demi-gods are destroying everything honest, pure, and healthy about America, bowing before a convicted sex offender with a severe mental disorder.
But... we understand why you do, and that's another reason not to want to be in the US today.
As for being 'too old,' you're correct. I am too old to want to put up with the brainwashed tools I'd be forced to be around.

Problem is you base all your views are based on the media which usually puts a doom and gloom spin on things when the GOP rule.

I visit annually with my kid. So many things to see in the US which I neglected to do during my working years overseas. Last trip we spent a week in NYC visiting all the sights including a day trip to WDC, visited Niagra Falls, road trip to Calif with all the sights. An awesome time.

You're missing out.

Travel& Transportation

You're missing out.

Actually, I’m not missing a thing. I’ve been to Niagara Falls, I’ve been to the Statue of Liberty, spent a week down in the Grand Canyon, hiked the Appalachian and Pacific Crest trails, and been in every state except Alaska and Hawaii, traveling by motorcycle. I’ve seen America. I lived, worked, explored, and played there for more than 40 years. Until the government starts taking care of the people again, instead of aggrandizing itself, there is no reason to go back.

Must be awful sitting in Thailand too old and poor to return to the US.

Yeah, it's so terrible living in paradise with perfect weather and plenty of rain that makes anything in the garden grow like well, the Garden of Eden.

Oh! So terrible we are not paying $100 for a tiny bag of groceries and $2000-3000/m rent for an average apartment that rented for $300-700 just 30 years ago.

I'm so jealous of you Trump Chumps*

You're just the Cats Pajamas. 🧓🚂 🏥

Good luck at the hospital with all the deductibles.

*A "chump" is an informal noun that refers to a foolish, gullible, or easily tricked person. It is frequently used when someone falls for a scam or is taken advantage of.

Minus 40 is the same in C & F, freezing point of mercury. Busted our thermometer in Maine one winter!

And, for science, let us abide by the SI system, which is the only one that really makes any sense, at least to me.....

Do you need someone to take care of you? Is the Thai government wiping your behind daily?

I’m really pleased that you’ve moved on from the USA. You truly belong in Isaan, living among the uneducated.

I ride my motorcycle every day of the week, four days of which are to my regular sports venue. I'm not quite ready for a walker yet. But... there is no doubt I want someone to take care of me. My wife handles that, while I take care of her. But thanks for asking! 😁

Boring people tend to talk about the weather. 😀

I'm thinking some of those who lived in America and moved out, despising it, rarely left their homes to travel around, see the sights, enjoy the events, beaches, mountains, lakes and different world cultures all in one place, along with some of the best food available.

There is so much to see there you couldn't if you spent your whole life trying. I lived in New Jersey and still haven't seen Niagara Falls, although I fished the St. Lawrence River not far away.

Take away the political thinking and America has everything anyone could want, although it's not cheap living there. There are so many things going on yearly you can never be bored.
