A lot.

Well, so far he has not tried his tricks with an elephant or large dog. It is specifically unpleasant to mistreat creatures smaller than you, insects excluded.

An elephant 🐘 wouldn't fit down his shorts.

Poor little thing - having an ape like that as an owner - hopefully he doesn't have kids if that how he treats a defenceless monkey 🐒 😡

A monkey is not an ape. Chimps, gorillas, orangutans, bonobos, are apes.

Another quality nutjob roaming around freely.

Has a Canadian air about him. At least it's not another Brit.

On what basis do you offer that conclusion? Or is this another one of your throw out something ridiculous and see if you can get a reaction actions?

What's size gotta do with it?

It's pretty difficult to put an elephant, even a small one, in your trousers... So, size DOES matter!

I just hope this guy contracts EBOLA or something equally pleasant.

The man is surely mad.

Exactly ,wish you would have a word with my missus.

Is there anyone normal here?

ThIs cretin needs a good Talkicking to ASAP!

WTF is the matter with some people? That guy needs to be given a very solid kicking by the motorcy guys. See what he thinks when pain is inflicted on HIM!

"{...............whether it was being kept legally."

If it's being kept in his shorts, I woould guess that he could pe prosecuted for keeping it "in an unhealthy and unsafe environment"!

A foreign man has been accused of physically abusing a young monkey in the Jomtien area

For a brief moment there I wondered if one of our more prolific posters from the Pattaya area had been caught messing around with a new girlfriend.... 🤣

He's certainly a prick, that's for sure. I've known this type before - most of them end up where they belong which is prison.

Nothing is going to happen unless someone files a complaint. Doesn’t sound like they will. RTP won’t be interested, no money in it.

My first year in Thailand (2005) the guy I rented a house from had this monkey he kept on a rope on a table under his house. The thing didn't look happy at all and this guy was a hardcore drunk and would slap it around and generally just harass it. Not nice at all. I don't take a lot of photos but I still have this one.

Not true. There is some vague public nuisance, animal cruelty laws around.

Women love guys like the one in the video. He's the type the love of your life left you for. He's fit, fun, and doesn't care what other people think. The woman is always the smartest person in the room (in her mind) so it doesn't matter if the guy is a moron.

That monkey would be great to do experiments on. My scalpel hand is twitching.

Is he going to be required to contact all his neighbors to inform them he's a monkey abuser?

Yes. And it will appear on his police record, as well as his credit report. He may be scarred for life. Animal abuse does not pay. LOL.

You may well be right, it’s not something that I know. The article does say:

“Komchadluek reported that authorities have not publicly confirmed whether an official complaint has been filed or if any action has been taken following the circulation of the clip.”

So the issue of complaint filing is out there as a requirement . Whether the police use any of the vague animal cruelty laws around, which you say exists, may depend on the court of social media and how much embarrassment is caused to law enforcement.

But without a complaint, I think they will let things die down and ignore it. If the guy is out and about and provokes further online activity, maybe something will be done

Marijuana laws have attracted the wrong crowd, many drug mules have hit that area too, literally has to be one of the worst places on this planet.

Thanks, I totally agree but with new stricter rules and regulations eg. no more free 60 day visas, much stricter cannabis controls and having to pay to leaveThailand, maybe these R-souls will be deterred.

Fortunately I am a country bumpkin who hated Pattaya, only making two overnight visits in 20 years and always returning to rural Lanna and Issan.

I'm not sure reducing a visa free entry from 60 days to 30 days is not going to stop idiots from being idiots - though I do agree, it may make Thailand less attractive for the bums to have to move on - the real issue is ineffective policing - this guy probably walked past 100's policemen in his time before social media blew this up.

As for cannabis control ? what control ? has there really been any increased control at all ? I haven't seen any.

As for 'paying to leave the country' ?? - there is no charge for leaving the country - it was floated that Thai's would have to pay a departure Tax when leaving - which is a pretty disgusting money grab IMO.
