June 30Jun 30 Thai anti-drug authorities have searched the accommodation of a 26-year-old Thai Airways cabin crew member after she was arrested in Australia on allegations of attempting to smuggle 1 kilogram of heroin into the country. She said officers searched the woman’s residence and interviewed her boyfriend to gather evidence and identify the owner of the drugs as well as other people believed to be involved in the network. The investigation follows reports from Australia that authorities charged the Thai airline employee, aged 26, after allegedly attempting to bring 1 kilogram of heroin into the country on 25 June 2026. According to the reports, the drugs were concealed among 12 bags in her luggage carried on an international flight.Ms Areepak said investigators believe the suspect may have been entrusted with transporting the drugs to Australia by members of a trafficking organisation. The agency said international drug trafficking groups frequently exploit travellers by asking them to transport parcels or baggage containing concealed narcotics. The agency warned that anyone found carrying illegal drugs across international borders could face prosecution for importing or exporting narcotics, even if they claim they were unaware of the contents. The reminder comes as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged smuggling attempt and any wider criminal connections.Daily News reported hat the case remains under investigation in both Thailand and Australia. Thai authorities said their immediate focus is tracing the source of the heroin, identifying additional members of the suspected network and gathering sufficient evidence for further legal action.Related storyThai-flight-attendant-held-over-heroin-at-Melbourne-airportJoin the discussion? June 30Jun 30 She should have watched one of the countless Ozzy Border Force videos on YouTube....Those officers delight in going through everyone's bags and questioning every little thing...And anyone who does not like the treatment is deemed suspicious...And is in need of even more interrogation, and even more invasive and personal questions....The border force crew seem to quite enjoy all the conflict....
June 30Jun 30 She wasn't carrying 12 separate pieces of luggage, she had 12 tote bags with heroin concealed in the linings in her luggage.Good catch, but when 12 of anything show up on the security x-ray of someone who's probably only spending the night, it's bound to raise some curiosity related to smuggling.I stand by my contention. Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

June 30Jun 30 You would think flight crews' luggage is rarely checked, even in search-happy Convict Island.
June 30Jun 30 Make her a Thai cabinet minister immediately. She is fully qualified and should have diplomatic immunity.

The visit lasted around 40 minutes, during which statements were recorded and read back to the interviewee and her family. The mother, identified only as “Nang Suay”, requested privacy and asked media not to record images inside the property, appearing visibly distressed as officials gathered information and assessed the family’s situation. The case relates to a Thai airline cabin crew member arrested in Melbourne, Australia, after heroin was allegedly concealed inside the linings of OTOP-branded elephant-pattern bags within checked luggage.According to investigators, the suspect responded to an online request for parcel handling after posting in a Facebook group offering luggage-handing services. She was later contacted by an account named “Rose”, which offered 8,800 baht to transport a 20 kilogram bag to Australia. Authorities said a brown parcel delivered via a ride-hailing courier to a Bangkok condominium contained multiple bags, some of which were the ones later found to contain heroin embedded in fabric.Officials from the ONCB said the Phayao visit formed part of routine inquiries into the suspect’s background and living conditions. The mother reportedly told officers she only learned of the arrest through embassy contact and expressed shock over the situation.Investigators are also examining whether a wider Thai-based network was involved, while confirming that a ride-hailing driver who delivered the parcel is being traced for questioning. Authorities noted that the family has modest financial circumstances, with the suspect regularly sending money home to help cover vehicle instalments. The Daily New reported that ONCB continues to coordinate with Australian Federal Police and the Thai embassy in Australia as legal proceedings progress overseas. The suspect remains in custody in Australia pending court processes, with officials expecting further developments in the coming weeks. Digital evidence, including social media communications and delivery records, is being reviewed to determine intent and establish whether additional suspects are involved in the operation. June 30Jun 30 It's possible she didn't know what was inside the bags but surely Thai airways would have warned all their staff of the risks of carrying luggage for someone else, especially strangers on Facebook!

The most basic of basic risks shouldn’t even need a warning. This idiot even posted offering a baggage carrying service on Facebook! It’s hard for me to believe that she didn’t know exactly what she was doing/carrying. No one is THAT dense.
July 1Jul 1 It's a golden rule of a thumb that a 15 year old is aware and if not, on a mandatory basis all passengers are reminded by airline staff; Never accept to carry a package with unkown contents or never confide your luggage to anybody else for packing. So find it a bit hard to belive the lady's story...Yet if she says true, then she is not fit for the job obviously for being so careless ...that to at her own expense.
July 1Jul 1 Interesting to note her room is very much the same as any lady bar accom almost down to furniture chosen
