  • I'm surprised weed use hasn't been blamed yet 🤣 Joking aside, anyone using a knife aggressively needs to be locked up, too many people have lost lives and been injured by weak people using knives.

Consistent public reporting on actual penalties, especially when cases end in jail time or deportation, might just send a more sobering message to the small minority of foreigners who insist on behaving like intoxicated instigating idiots in public.

Would you expect all foreigners to read websites about criminal penalties before going on holiday?

Weird. I've spent over 10 years of my life in Pattaya. In my younger days even used to party a bit. Never seen a fight. Never been threatened. Never a problem.

Yes Pattaya has a lot of drug use and prostitution. Yes if you hang around Walking Street at 4 AM your odds of seeing something kick off leap dramatically. Pretty sure there are areas of Bangkok that share the same problems. Funny listening to some of you having an attitude about Pattaya. Heck I feel safer there than in many big cities in the west.

I'm of the old school in Pattaya, hit the bars around 2 pm back to my condo around 8 pm. It works for me, not one incident in over 25 years.

Hurrah, another stupid Brit. Are they increasing......🙄

avoid all skin colors and nationalities on Soi Bukao at 3 AM.

Pattaya's a great place, it's the people that visit here that's the problem.

Isn't it time for a divine intervention for Pattaya. Like Sodom , Gomorrah & Pattaya

Probably why not ?

I can’t speak about Vietnam, but it’s very unlikely to happen in Singapore.

Firstly, the penalties for serving alcohol to someone who is overly intoxicated are severe. Landlords wouldn’t do it.

Secondly, the penalties for this sort of behavior is also very severe. People who expect to get themselves into this type of confrontation while “enjoying” themselves on a night out, would avoid Singapore like the plague.

And thirdly a bottle of beer in Singapore is very expensive. I doubt these kinds of low life would want to pay Singapore prices.

Check out the Channel News Asia web site and tell me how many instances of this type of behavior from foreigners is reported in a month.

More likely that they would read the sun and see that someone got fined 5,000 quid for brawling. Might have an impact after the 10th reported case.

It’s fantasy of course.

Luckily I have dual nationality. What's happening here all the time I am sorry to say I am ashamed of being British. I always tell Thai's I am from NZ

The usual sloppy drunken nonsense from poor quality tourists, as usual. Just arrest them all and deport... simple

I wouldn't be bragging that I knew the bars names on soi bukhao. I made up my own. The one on the corner of soi buakhao and soi diana is the Loser Beer Bar, or LBB for short.

You drink there then. You seem to know the names.

Well. in fairness, it appears that one of the "dangerous" other foreigners was responsible for the slashing. One of those "dark skinned males" we are warned about. 🤐 I will rest much easier now that I know, that I can avoid danger if I avoid "dark skinned males"......

The Thais call them chocolate men 🤣🤣

Dude that sounds pathetic. You are scared to go out at night and start at 2 pm to avoid the miniscule odds of having a problem. Been here 30 years and could have avoided every violent issue with ease. A few times I just wanted to take it to the next level and never got my arse kicked. I'm amazed at how some individuals are magnets for abuse. Just have fun and it will be OK if it is 2 pm or 3 am.

I partied in my 40s and 50s. Wandered Pattaya til all hours. Now, Heck I know my schedule like the person they are ridiculing. I am up early, breakfast, either gym or golf course, nap, out 4-8 PM. Bed time to get up again at 5 AM. Oh and usually some guitar in there.

No idea why they think his life is boring. Sometimes when you been there done that you find it isn't all that.

It can be very good fun. Precisely because there aren’t overly intoxicated people brawling every night.

Unless you think it takes a vicious brawl by drunks to create good fun?

"threatened to contact the British embassy"

that's no threat at all, did the policeman laugh?

The women on Buakaho are not that attractive, so expect more fights to be reported during low season.
