Podcaster Joe Rogan has questioned President Donald Trump's decision to resume military strikes on Iran, saying the president "might’ve f---ed it up" by becoming involved in the conflict.

Speaking on Wednesday's episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan argued that many conservatives never wanted a war with Iran and said the military action appeared to contradict one of Trump's key campaign promises.

"We might’ve f---ed it up by going to Iran. I mean, this war is not something anybody that’s conservative wanted. Most people don’t want it, except supporters of Israel," Rogan said.

He continued: "They’re the only people that seem to be thinking it’s a good idea in this country. Most people are horrified by the idea because Trump was elected. One of the pillars that he stood for apparently was that he doesn’t want any more wars."

Conservative Criticism Intensifies

Rogan's remarks echo criticism from several prominent conservative commentators, including Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly and Matt Walsh.

The group has argued that Trump entered the conflict to advance Israeli interests without fully considering the consequences for Americans, who have faced fluctuating fuel and energy prices since the fighting began.

Growing Opposition on the Right

British politician Rupert Lowe, who appeared as Rogan's guest on the podcast, said Iran remained a regional threat but questioned whether military action served U.S. interests.

"There’s only a reason to go to war if it’s going to benefit you," Lowe said. Although he described Iran as "a sort of malevolent state" that spreads harmful ideology, he said it was difficult to identify a clear benefit for the United States.

Lowe also pointed to Iran's backing of Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas as evidence that Tehran continues to pose a security challenge.

Fighting Continues

The comments came as efforts to secure a diplomatic breakthrough appeared to falter.

While Trump's team had been working to negotiate an agreement, fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon threatened hopes for a broader peace deal. Israel has maintained control of a security zone along its border with Lebanon, saying the buffer is needed to prevent Hezbollah operations.

Iran has said regional peace was secured under the ceasefire agreement and urged Trump to adhere to the terms outlined in the memorandum of understanding.

However, after Iran attacked three ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday and clashes between U.S. and Iranian forces continued on Wednesday, Trump declared that the ceasefire agreement was "over."

International leaders are now watching closely for Washington's next military decisions as they assess whether the conflict with Iran will escalate further or move back toward diplomacy following the latest exchanges of strikes.

This war was a case of "why don't you and him fight". There are a lot of "Israel First" Republicans in the party who absolutely approve of the US attacking. I wish we hadn't gotten involved, but since Iran turns out to have (or had) the ability to strike Western Europe, the US would have been blamed for not taking action. One of the biggest liabilities that Trump had leading up to this war was the decision to use two absolute imbeciles in the form of Witkoff and Kushner. They are both rabid Zionists, they both deliberately lied to Iran during the negotiations in order to fool them into thinking that the US was sincere, and look at the outcome that we have.

The thing that a very tiny mind like Trump doesn't get is that Iran will not negotiate with the US at this point. Many reports are coming out that Witkoff is begging the Iranian foreign minister for meetings and his calls are not being returned.

The US has backed themselves into a corner and the economic devastation has been way beyond what they anticipated, and the price they're going to pay for this in the midterms is going to be brutal. Unchecked inflation, rising unemployment, the closing of hundreds of thousands of small businesses, no return of manufacturing to the US, a shortage of labor due to extreme and short sighted immigration policy, and the abandonment of any hope that Trump would improve the quality of life for Americans, but instead we get sabotage of those hopes for the entire planet.

Don's demise will be a good thing, as Trump will lose his power and he will just become a whiny gutter trash punk, will have to deal with being doubly impotent, and hopefully he will eventually disappear into oblivion. Morbid sickness is quite likely, considering his rapid decline, and his three or four cheeseburger a day diet.

See ya Don. You will not be missed, the world will celebrate your demise with such glee, millions will take to the streets and welcome the return of civility, decency, honor, grace and hope.

We will be talking about hundreds of millions, probably more than a billion people. Europe has had enough of his insanity, and so has most of the rest of the world. Only die hard fans or his cult, will feel he will be missed.

I'll celebrate for days when this nightmare is over, that's for sure, and I'm certainly not American.

He is back home for more of his insanity. Fired the Commissioner of the Election Assistance Commission who stood up to him for the election officials who face violent threats because of conspiracy theories by him. Europe happy to see the back of him while US will have to suffer his insanity.

Yes but between 31% and 41% percent of all Americans polled support the war. This is a more accurate way of assessing support than giving the numbers of those who positively support and and those who lean towards support. One can learn nothing from the numbers who have no opinion. Personally I have no opinion not being privy to any private information that the American government may have but I'm not happy when numbers are used selectively.

You're referring to a Pew poll from March 2026, nearly four months ago, when the conflict was still in its infancy. Public opinion has shifted considerably since then. More recent polling (although still over a month ago) paints a different picture:

• Reuters/Ipsos (June 3-8, 2026): Only 25% of Americans said the military action in Iran had been "worth it," while 53% said it had not been worth the costs.

• Reuters/Ipsos (May 19, 2026): Nearly identical results, with 23% saying it was worth it and 52% saying it wasn't.

If you're going to cite polling to describe current public opinion, it's more accurate to rely on the most recent surveys rather than one conducted in March.

Forget about the ‘might have’. Trump definitely, most assuredly 100% effed it up with the Iran war. As he did with his insane tariffs and trade wars. And alienating and antagonizing just about every US ally. And still whining about the ‘stolen’ 2020 election. The list is endless.

I do very much hope that the planet learns from this and excises the cancer, that the USA represents.

Breaking it up into its 50 statelets would be a first good step, then de-militarize them one by one.
