It shows that the Spectator has actually failed to cut through any spin and has not explained the numbers behind the "noise". Additionally, Michael Simmons and the "in-the-know guest" have made no particuarly data-driven case at all.

I don't see how you can reach that conclusion.

The Spectator considered 6 claims made by Lowe and concluded that 3 were false, 2 misleading and 1 unproven.

They explain why they reach their conclusions including why they think that Lowe's numbers may be incorrect. If you disagree with their conclusions, you need to be more specific than simply saying that they fail to cut through the 'spin' and 'noise'.
