Not that I've experienced. Regardless of whatever service I've requested any branch has been able to deal with it. A couple of friends initially opened an account at the Bangkok bank HQ when they first arrived in Thailand, then after moving to Isaan discovered they were paying the 'out of province' charge for each and every withdrawal. They stated they had been told in order to open an account locally, they'd need to personally visit their home branch to close their accounts. That wasn't the case, when we enquired at the Isaan branch, they stated they could simply transfer the account without any requirement to visit the branch where they opened their account, and that's exactly what they did.
