US attacks under-construction Iran nuclear plant, Iran says

Featured Replies

Iran said the United States struck a nuclear power plant under construction, while Kuwait reported that a power generation and water desalination facility had been hit for the second time in two days.

Iranian officials did not provide additional details in the account referenced on Monday, beyond saying the facility under construction was hit by the US. The claim added to mounting tensions in the region, as both Iran and the United States traded allegations over actions and attacks.

Kuwait meanwhile said its affected facility, which produces electricity and provides desalinated water, had been struck again. The statement cited that the location was targeted for the second time in as many days, without specifying the nature of the strike or the extent of any damage.

CENTCOM reports US death in Iraq

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said one US service member was killed in Iraq on Saturday. The announcement came a day after CENTCOM reported that two US soldiers were killed, one was reported missing, and others were wounded in Jordan during an attack on a military facility.

CENTCOM’s account linked the incidents in Jordan to an Iranian attack, and described the sequence of events over the two-day period as the latest in a wider cycle of hostilities.

The reports underscored how quickly developments moved across multiple countries, with US military fatalities and injuries being described alongside separate claims by Iran and Kuwait about strikes involving critical infrastructure.

Iranian commander warns of response

A top Iranian commander warned the United States that any aggression would be met with a decisive and damaging response from Iran’s armed forces, according to the message attributed to him.

The warning was issued as the competing claims about strikes continued. Iran’s statement about the under-construction nuclear plant and Kuwait’s account of the second attack on a combined power and desalination site were presented as separate developments, but together they reflected heightened concern over the targeting of facilities tied to energy and water supplies.

No additional information was provided in the accounts about specific targets beyond the types of sites cited by the respective sides, or about operational details related to the strikes.

Claims and counterclaims continue

With Iran describing a US attack on its nuclear project and Kuwait saying its facility was targeted again, the situation remained characterised by assertions from multiple governments rather than verified shared details. The US military-related reports from CENTCOM, meanwhile, focused on casualties involving US forces in Iraq and on the earlier incident in Jordan.

The developments were framed by Iran through its commander’s warning, and by the United States through CENTCOM’s casualty statements, as all sides continued to describe actions in the context of ongoing confrontation.

Both are active terror states thinking that the most horrific war crimes are just a normal part of warfare.

Both of those terror states need to be de-weaponized, cut into economic viable smaller statelets and put under UN administration until their populace is able to exist peacefully in a democratic system.

As the citizens of one of the two states actually think, that their system is already democratic, while at the same time having the lowest literacy rates of any "developed" country (and Iran being at least in youth literacy on par or above), I guess re-education of democratic values will be a difficult process and take an inordinate amount of time more.

FAKE NEWS!!!1!1!

Trump said he OBLITERATED Iran's nuclear facilities in 2025.

You can't bomb something that doesn't exist.

AI Overview

Yes, President Donald Trump repeatedly declared in 2025 and early 2026 that the U.S. "obliterated" Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities, particularly at sites like Fordow and Natanz.

Going through your post point by point, Trump’s administration is indeed targeting people because of their race, as ICE is profiling people based on whether they look like they might speak Spanish. A substantial part of Trump’s administration (not to mention his supporters) are white supremacists -- fearing, and trying to forestall, the day in the near future when the population of the US that identifies as white will fall under 50%.

As for “terrorist regimes,” since the end of WWII, in too many foreign adventures to count, how many hundreds of thousands of civilians in foreign countries have Americans killed, whether by aerial bombing or as collateral in direct combat? The most recent atrocity being the murder of 150 Iranian schoolgirls. The US in fact is the only country to have used nuclear weapons, and Trump in his last administration actively questioned why the US couldn’t use them again. Who’s the terrorist here? You tell me.

America will never be a dictatorship? I’m an American, was born and raised there, and, in the end, the United States is just another country. We are not exceptional; we are not indispensable. Often, we are just plain stupid. You say that “Americans can get rid of someone that’s gone over the edge.” Well, let’s see about that. Trump, right now, is in the process of going over the edge, in his warmongering and in his very real threats of election interference to ensure his continuing majority in Congress. Let’s wait until the midterms to see if Americans indeed can get rid of someone who’s gone over the edge.

Innocents die in every war. Civilians are bombed as the enemy lives next to their homes and businesses. Iran itself has killed thousands of it's own citizens. American have done that before in the Civil War, but intentional killings isn't part of their plans. Since you want to bring up the past, which most countries have learned from, this also happened during World War 2, where the German and Japanese killed and tortured thousands of innocents, from many countries. Their own citizens paid for this at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which was horrendous b0ut saved countless lives.

This war needs to end with things improving for everyone, and Iran's regime needs to stop what they've been doing the last 47 years. it might not happen, but America has put a severe dent in their military and any normal leaders who are actually thinking of their citizen's futures would negotiate and stop shooting at it's neighbors, as they haven't a chance in hell of winning this by attrition.

Those schoolgirls weren't killed intentionally. They were collateral damage, as Iran chose to have a base next to their schools, which shows how little they care about their citizens even more. I don't deny the stupid things America has done in wars. I've lived there 62 years and will soon be moving back. Being an American you should know what's gone on and why.

I never said Trump was normal thinking. Billionaires that become politicians are acting like God, and him being a narcissist doesn't help matters. He shouldn't have been elected but many Americans had nothing else they could count on, so we'll never know what might have been. Only that we hope we have better choices in the future.

It doesn't matter what percentage of America is white, as America has always been all countries in one place, and if they can get along, that's all that matters.

Off topic deflection posts and replies about the GDP of Germany and US states have been removed.

Yes, civilians die in wars; probably every state that has ever engaged in warfare has killed civilians. And civilians often live close to military facilities that are legitimate targets during wartime; sometimes this proximity is deliberate, sometimes not.

The thing is: this current war is entirely useless and unnecessary. Obama’s agreement with Iran was working just fine in containing their nuclear weapons program; Trump ripped that up in his first term in a fit of jealousy, and since then he’s ramped up the rhetoric, despite the fact that his own intelligence has reported that Iran is many years from developing a nuclear weapon.

So, given that we went into this war fecklessly, entirely without purpose and entirely on our own initiative (with an assist from Netanyahu), our killing of civilians is likewise without purpose, the murder of the schoolgirls being only the most egregious incident. Whether we intended to murder them is immaterial: we should not have been bombing in the first place. Thus, I use the word “murder” quite deliberately.

“Many Americans had nothing else they could count on” other than Trump? That made me laugh out loud, though the issue is off topic. And you’re absolutely correct: it most certainly doesn’t matter a hoot what percentage of America is white. Unfortunately, tens of millions of Americans continue to insist that America is inherently a white Christian nation, and it is these people who form the core of Trump’s base, and thus he needs to pander to them if he has any hope of maintaining his power beyond the midterms.

Why was Iran making so much enriched uranium if Obama made a deal? Again, unintentional strikes on civilians close to enemy targets isn't murder, so it's time to get off that topic. Iran kills more people every week than those in that school. Guess that should have continued unabated?

How would anyone know what tens of millions of people think without having a poll of some kind? Most of that rhetoric is made by people who've never lived in America and only visited. If they did live there, they should know better but some still don't, as they are hero worshipers or closed minded.

Many years from developing a nuclear weapon comes pretty fast, and when it's launched, it might be too late, as extremists aren't normal thinking people and have no business having weapons of that sort. Look at what they've done with only bombs.

By most estimates, we have killed/murdered (and I’m not going to argue semantics with you) around 2,000 Iranian civilians since we started bombing that country five months ago. You correctly state that Iran kills plenty of its own citizens (those protesting the regime). So the answer is to just kill more of them? Why are you so concerned about Iranian civilians that the Iranian government kills, and casually dismiss those that the US government kills as “collateral damage”?

Again, this is entirely a “war of choice,” and I am not going to delve into Trump’s diseased psychology for answers as to why he chose it. If we are going to willy-nilly attack countries who are many years from developing a deliverable nuclear weapon, then why aren’t we attacking Argentina, or Indonesia, or South Africa, or any of dozens of countries that could likely ramp up a nuclear program if they so chose? Why aren’t we attacking North Korea, which already has nuclear weapons, plus a lunatic leadership to boot? There is simply no reasonable justification for our unilateral attack on Iran.

As for the number of white nationalists in the United States, there has been plenty of polling, and tons of research by organizations that track just this sort of thing. You just need to look.

The US isn't intentionally killing any civilians, which is collateral damage because they're near enemy positions. It's likely more than you quoted., and is from joint strikes. Iran has been, and will continue to kill innocents until they're stopped. If they weren't killing it's own citizens, along with hundreds of other countries, this wouldn't be like it is.

I don't dismiss any innocent killings in any wars, including World War 2. In the end, did it save lives, meaning many more?

Every country has racists and supremacists, and always will. It's learned at home. Are any countries a threat to the US? Any that don't need us? Those are seeing what the US is capable of, at least some of it, and are now less likely to try anything. Before this wasn't so.

"then why aren’t we attacking Argentina, or Indonesia, or South Africa,"

S Africa dismantled their nuke program when Mandella was elected. Only country to ever do that, or so I read.

American friend wanted to go to Iran in early 2000's. I went to Iranian embassy in Bangkok to see how it was going. Gracious people. It took self control not to tell "If I were you I would develop nukes. US does not mess with opponents with nukes... North Korea prime example"

You are very much dismissing “innocent killings”: that’s exactly what the often lampooned term “collateral damage” is intended to do. A hundred corpses of schoolgirls? No, “collateral damage.” Get it? Was the My Lai massacre another instance of collateral damage? Surely there were Viet Cong there, right?

I don’t know what you mean by “hundreds of other countries”: Iran is killing people in hundreds of countries? Really? Apart from Israel and Yemen (via proxies), I can’t think of any. And I have no clue what you mean by, “Those are seeing what the US is capable of, at least some of it, and are now less likely to try anything.” ??? All I can figure is, this is some version of Nixon’s madman theory -- if Trump’s “in the mood,” he’ll drop bombs on anything that moves, and that’ll keep the rest of the world in line, right?

Basta, and bye now -- you take care --

I don't dismiss any killings. Labeling them as collateral damage isn't dismissing them but pointing out what is. Labeling them as murders isn't the truth. This isn't the past but the present, so talking about America's past mistakes doesn't work now, as there are many extreme mistakes made by many countries, and they aren't the same now.

I meant hundreds "from" other countries of course, as there isn't hundreds of countries on earth but 195, most of which aren't involved in any of this.

Research what Iran's regime is responsible for as far as terrorism is concerned.

The US has a lot more as far as military strength then many know, and it isn't designed to kill civilians, no matter what Trump threats. If they leave the citizens infrastructure alone, then it's a war with all it's actions. targeting civilians or their way of life is never right, and that's what I meant by what Iran's been doing for decades.

My basic point is, Trump’s entire Iran policy is incoherent, we had no justification to begin bombing that country, and therefore our killing of civilians there is tantamount to murder. If we are going to hold other countries responsible for crimes against humanity, we’d better start by reflecting on ourselves and our own behavior.

I count a total of 205 “countries” by the way, but I’m sort of a geography freak.

There are 195 recognized sovereign countries. There are also other territories, adding up to 241. All I've seen is the uranium enrichment, and the possible problems from that in the future, Ira's regime killing it's own people for trying to make changes, and what they've already done to other countries. That they are targeting boats and other countries shows more guilt. Shooting themselves in the foot from ego.

There's only one reason Trump doesn't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon, and it's nothing to do with world security. It's because it would stop the US under him taking control of the whole middle east and it's oil.

Reinforce oil being sold in dollars, and try to contain China. If you control the oil, you pretty much control the world economies. That's why they invaded Venezuela. I wonder if they will spend any of the money they are stealing to rebuild the earthquake destruction.

Oil's slowly going to be phased out for other energy sources, and will lose it's power, and everyone knows this. Putting a terrorist minded individual's finger on a nuclear weapon would be a disaster. It's already on North Korea's but he knows what would happen if he tried to use one against humans.

People think a lot of things because they hear other's opinions about Venezuela and China, but they aren't factual. Impossible to control a power like China.

There also isn't any evidence of stealing any oil.

Because we're involved in a war with a middle eastern country doesn't mean we want their oil. The US is a huge producer of oil and we don't need anyone else's.

Way off topic but more fun, I assume your 195 includes 193 UN member states plus two observer states (Palestine and the Vatican). I would add two states “in free association” with New Zealand (the Cook Islands and Niue), three stable countries (Taiwan, Kosovo, and Somaliland), Northern Cyprus (which has been an entity for more than 40 years), three breakaway former Soviet territories (Transnistria, Abkhazia, and North Ossetia), and the Sahrawi Arab Republic, which has controlled a strip of desert for some time now and is recognized by 38 UN member states. (I make lists like this when I get tired of doing other things!)
