I'm going on holiday to another city in Thailand for a week and I'll be back at my place on Friday July 31st during the late afternoon. Is it okay if I go to immigration on Monday, August 3rd? Can I go alone with a copy of the rental contract, Tabien Baan, and the owner's Thai ID? I already have a TM30 for this exact address, but I just need to update it since the hotel will file a new one when I stay there.

The immigration office wants foreigners to update if they go to another province and then come back to the same current address

The official rule is reporting within 24 hours. Since immigration will be closed by the time you return home, you can report on Monday.

The documents you listed are generally enough to file a TM30. You'll also need to fill out the TM30 form. You may need the owner to sign the copies of their housebook and ID card as well.

If this is a common occurrence, you might consider asking the owner to register for the online TM30 website, or asking them if you can use their documents to register an account yourself.

Will you be having interaction with immigration?

I live in Bangkok and regularly travel to places such as Pattaya etc.

Never have I filed a TM30 for stay on "holiday" at another address.

Yes, we go up to BKK several times a year for a few days or a cupla weeks. Will be 3 weeks this Nov/Dec.

Never even occurs to me to report this or fill out a form ...

in Phuket u will also need a Power of attorney form with the landlord giving u power to file the tm 30. Note this needs the 10 baht stamp on it,
not sure about other immigrations

Its MUCH easier to file the tm 30 online!!!!! open 24/7
Dont need the owner to register you, you can do it urself, ( i have) just get copies of his id card and house book signed to submit

Out of the blue one year when doing annual extension (CW) the io asked for TM30 even though I had a TM47 and annual lease etc.

Since then I always do a new tm30 just prior to applying for extension.

Visited CW last Thursday, July 23, for annual extension of retirement visa bearing usual documents including copies of lease valid to end October 2026 on my place of residence for last 18 years. Was warned determinedly that next year I will need a TM 30 and a lease extending for more than i year beyond my interview date.. Of course I'll try to comply but don't they have enough paper locked away in warehouses somewhere?

I've had same at CW regards TM30.

A one year lease from date of application is unreasonable and ridiculous.

I checked the io twice on his request for next year's lease to show more than one year of extension from interview date, I even wrote it down in front of him. He wasn't the senior officer, perhaps he was not taken by the lease expiring in October 2026 and trying to make a point. I'll watch out for developments and verifications as time passes.

Put it down to io error.

My apartment only does 12 month lease.

I went in for a cor in Phuket< when the IO looked me up it said i was staying in Betong, ( had gone down on vacation an stayed at a hotel which obviously did a tm 30 report)
Luckily I had all the paperwork ( landlords id card and taam bien baan) but the Immigration volunteer said i need a POA from the landlord>
i told him i live in Kamala ( 25 kms away)he said nevermind and gave me the form, said just get anyone to sign i, ( which i did) and he would fill it out for me

ahhh Thailand

Next time when you need CoR, save your time and go to Blue tree imigration, no forms needed. IO will just take picture from your passport detail page and tm.30 and come back next day to pick up your CoR, however price is 1000Thb.

For me doing tm.30 in Phuket takes almost full day with all these copies and stamp duty for power of attorney and all these locations are not very near to each other - landlords house, district office, immigration office. And I cant do anything about it, because landlord is 80+ years old guy and not very familiar with digital technologies.

With all of those documents that you need to file your own TM30, you could create the online account yourself.

I've never done it myself, as I don't own property. But yes you just register as the owner, using their documents which you already have.

Once you have the account, you then register the property using the blue book. Once that's added to your account, you can then submit TM30s for that address in about 30 seconds.

Once you submit the TM30, you have to go back to the front page and search for the entry you just made. Then you can click the "export" button which will give you the PDF that is the official proof of TM30. Download that and keep it handy since you can only find it in the system for 7 days after it is submitted. If you lose it or forget, you can just submit a new one if you need proof in the future.

Chiang Mai immigration. They want the TM 30 has to be updated every time you go to another province and then you come back to the same address. And even prior your visa extension stamp

So? By Thai law, the person who owns the property—such as a landlord, a host, or a hotel manager—is the one required to fill out and submit the TM30. The foreigner staying there is the subject of the form, but rarely the one actually doing the paperwork.

Seems everywhere is different - my Condo Mgt team told me I didn’t have to fill out the from for myself for a short visit inside Thailand since I am the owner, I just spent a week in Bangkok Hospital, when I get back to Jom Tien am I supposed to go and update he form??

You don't have to fill out the TM30 if you have already filled it out and its your main home address, until you get a new visa or passport. Short trips inside or outside Thailand should not matter but each IO is different. You can fill the form out yourself online since you are the owner.

That's correct.

The issue is immigration offices vary.

CM have always been strict on this.

Some offices such as Jomtien flip flop.

As soon as it's required then expats attending immigration to file TM30 after short trip to another province told "not necessary"

As usual Thailand is a crap shoot

That's not for your condo management to decide. That's for your immigration office to decide.

better check with ur local immigration and one should not make a statement saying its not needed to file a new tm if.......

If Phuket requires it fine.

Been with them 12 years and they have never steered me wrong yet - they keep up with the JomTien Immigration laws, as the majority of condos there are Foreign owned, so I’ll stick with them thank you very much. Peace
