The official rule is reporting within 24 hours. Since immigration will be closed by the time you return home, you can report on Monday.

The documents you listed are generally enough to file a TM30. You'll also need to fill out the TM30 form. You may need the owner to sign the copies of their housebook and ID card as well.

If this is a common occurrence, you might consider asking the owner to register for the online TM30 website, or asking them if you can use their documents to register an account yourself.

Just out of interest what happens if you will be staying at your wife's house and therefore won't have a rental contract?

I'm thinking about getting my wife to register on the online TM30 website but may end up having to do it for her myself. Do I need anything more from her other than signed copies of her housebook and ID card?

What does a rental contract have to do with anything?

You can go to the TM30 website and check the help section showing what is required to register an address.

The poster you were replying to asked:

Can I go alone with a copy of the rental contract, Tabien Baan, and the owner's Thai ID?

You replied:

So I was just wondering if I needed to do a rental contract with my wife or if it isn't required in that case.

A rental contract is not required for a TM30 unless you are in one of the few places that will allow a tenant to submit a TM30 without ANY information from the owner (Bangkok is one). Otherwise you need the copies of the owner information. If you have that, then not needed at all.
