So the man who spent years as the unchallenged face of the COVID response, who pushed policies that locked down the country, closed schools, and destroyed livelihoods, was privately seething that the elected president wasn’t following his script closely enough.

The diary doesn’t just reveal a “clash.” It reveals that Fauci viewed the president as an obstacle to be managed while he enjoyed the media adoration. Funny how the same people who treated Fauci’s every word as gospel now act like these private insults are some kind of smoking gun against Trump instead of against the unelected official who thought he should be running the country.

But his words, the fallout, and the facts matter: Maryland alone had to issue a public warning not to ingest or inject disinfectants after Trump's comments, and its emergency hotline received hundreds of calls. Trump's remarks fit a familiar pattern of plausible deniability: 'very fine people on both sides', 'stand back and stand by', 'be there, will be wild!', and 'fight like hell'.

It's the kaleidoscope effect: the same words can be turned and viewed through different perspectives. This strategic ambiguity gives the cult a ready-made defence while allowing Trump to send different messages to different audiences and avoid accountability for the consequences.
