Authorities have found the dismantled motorcycle belonging to two Russian siblings who disappeared in Chon Buri on 26 July, buried in woodland in Bang Lamung district. The two people remain missing and a search of the surrounding area is continuing.

Village and local leaders found the burial site in Moo 9, Huai Yai subdistrict, on 29 July 2026 after spotting four suspicious men carrying digging equipment in the forest.

When the group was approached, all four men ran from the area. Police were then called to inspect a patch of earth that appeared to have been freshly covered.

Officers dug down and found a nearly new black-and-grey Honda ADV motorcycle, which had been taken apart and buried in pieces. Checks confirmed it was the bike belonging to the missing Russians, registered in Chon Buri as 4 Kor Sor 6379.

The siblings and their motorcycle had been missing since the early hours of 26 July.

Search widened around Huai Yai

Following the discovery, officers launched a wider search of the woodland, both to locate the missing pair and gather further evidence.

The investigation remains under way

Chakkrit Boonmak, 56, an assistant village headman, said he, village officials and local leaders had reviewed information and analysed routes seen on CCTV footage before identifying the area as suspicious.

At about 10am, he said, an acquaintance told him that a group of men had arrived with spades at around 10pm the previous night. He went to investigate and found four men at the site.

Chakkrit said he initially feared a body might have been buried there. He alerted the village headman and withdrew because he was concerned the men could be armed.

By the time police and other officers returned to the location, the four men had escaped, leaving the buried motorcycle behind.

For now, the practical development is that the missing Russians' vehicle has been recovered, but the search for them continues.

Police Seek Man for Information in Missing Russians Case

Police investigating the disappearance of two Russians have appealed for a man identified as Tana “Pong” Kerdthong to come forward and contact investigators as soon as possible.

Officers from Huay Yai Police Station said they want him to present himself and provide information that could assist the ongoing investigation. Authorities stressed that speaking to police would help clarify the circumstances surrounding the high-profile disappearance.

The appeal comes as investigators continue to pursue multiple lines of enquiry following the mysterious disappearance of the two Russian nationals. Police have not disclosed the exact nature of Mr Tana’s connection to the investigation but said they believe he may be able to provide information that could prove valuable to the case.

Detectives are working to establish the Russians’ movements before they vanished and are urging anyone with relevant knowledge to assist.

Police have also called on members of the public to come forward if they have seen Mr Tana, also known by the nickname “Pong”, or have any information, evidence or leads that could help the investigation.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Huay Yai Police Station directly or call the national emergency hotline on 191, which operates 24 hours a day. Officers have urged the public to report even seemingly minor details that could assist the investigation.
