I live in Bangkok and have a condo in Pattaya. My problem is I'm in Pattaya now and I forgot my passport but I do have a laminated copy of the photo page and my one year visa. I need to re install the Kasikorn app on my phone and renew my DTAC one year WIFI. Will Kasikorn Bank and DTAC accept the laminated copy of my passport. Thanks.

My experience with Kasikorn is that they will ONLY accept an original passport.

At the end of the day it will be down to the discretion of the branch,

At Kasikorn and SCB, I need my original passport just to cash in some coins!

Why would you need to go to the bank? Should be no issue to reinstall the app.

Likely not, both my present banks and previously Kasikorn, which I used for a period, only accepts original passport.

Yeah, but also that should be possible to take in your phone and update via their KYC process. You just download and install the app, might need to visit an ATM and then go through the verification process.

If that DTAC SIM is already registered in your name and passport info, they should be able to renew it, but there are no guarantees that "cannot" will not be the response.

The DTAC (and maybe TRUE) apps can generate a proof of registration and ownership.

AIS app says that feature will be available this month. Currently, one has to do a bit of the hokey-cokey at an AIS store to get a printed receipt which contains confirmation of name, address, passport, phone number ownership. I did it last week, they charged 50 baht which is instantly refunded.

Can you not use your Thai drivers license? It has your full information and your passport number on it? Curious.

Why do you have to renew your Wi-Fi? I have been here for 15 years and never needed to renew my Wi-Fi or phone.

I just pay my bill and everyone is happy LOL

It may be possible to activate your app on your mobile via the ATM (if you have a debit/ATM card). This is how I activated my KK-Bank app the first time (with help of the security staff of the branch)

Why is returning to BK not an option? RR coach to the airport and BTS to wherever.
