Chinese man arrested in Pattaya K-pod vape raid

Featured Replies

Pattaya police have arrested a 39-year-old Chinese national after an overnight raid at a condominium off Phothisan Road, where officers found etomidate K-pods, electronic cigarettes and cash.

Mr Jinwei Huo, was taken into custody at about 2am on 8 August 2026. Police said the raid was part of a wider anti-drugs operation in the tourist city.

The operation was carried out under the direction of Pol Maj Gen Pongphan Wongmanithet, commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, together with senior officers from Chonburi police and Pattaya City Police Station.

The Pattaya City Police drug-suppression investigation team, led by Pol Capt Pubej Ruamsap, searched the condominium and arrested one suspect.

K-pods, vapes and cash seized

Police reported seizing one K-pod head, along with one green-packaged Green Grape K-pod, two red-packaged Watermelon K-pods, one blue-packaged Blueberry K-pod and one yellow-packaged Pineapple K-pod.

Officers also seized one electronic cigarette device fitted with a K-pod head, three further vape devices, and two ready-to-use Grape-flavoured electronic cigarettes.

Cash totalling 10,960 baht was also taken as evidence. Police said it comprised 1,860 baht in one amount and 9,100 baht in another.

Three allegations filed

Mr Huo was accused of possessing a Category 2 psychotropic substance, described by police as etomidate K-pods.

He also faces an allegation of selling products prohibited from sale under the Consumer Protection Act 1979, relating to electronic cigarettes.

A third allegation concerns concealing, assisting in the sale of, buying, pawning or otherwise receiving goods known, or which should have been known, to be connected to an offence under Section 246 of the Customs Act 2017.

Police transferred Mr Huo and the seized items to investigators at Pattaya City Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Police said they are continuing to examine where the seized items came from and whether other people may be connected. Further action will be taken if evidence points to a wider network or additional suspects.
