  • You know that stench that you didn't like? That's what most smokers smell like to non-smokers. One by-product of cigarette smoking is that the smoker loses a large percentage of their sense of smell,

  • Funny 😊 You don't like the smell that you are creating 😊 Perhaps that is the point of the exercise.

  • There is always one like you . Go and waste your time elsewhere .

Dont ever recall a smoker whinging.

When laws passed prohibiting smoking in bars and restaurants, smokers were definitely whining. Now, in some places, it is illegal to smoke out on the street. A bit of grumbling has been heard from the smokers over that one too.

Yeah, I can remember the days when cigarettes dictated my life's comings and goings and social and work rhythms and even my state of mind as well.

28 years ago had the last one. Happy non-smoker ever since.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Allen Carr.

555 @ laws.

Restaurants and bars I go to put out ash trays for the customers.

did they also pass a law banning smoking out on the street... when did that get posted in the royal gazzette ?

Good reason for me a bulb of garlic when flying, so I can chomp on it and talk to you throughout the flight at the most inopportune moments 😊

You should be obliged to chew on garlic continually, it might just tone down the stench of what normally flows so fluently out of your mouth, I doubt there would be many complaints

Hey! 28 years for me too (on the 21st of this month!) I smoked the last one standing in front of an airport that was completely non-smoking inside. It didn't even have the hamster cages. I had to stand in the rain to smoke it. And imagine this... I was almost OK with standing in the rain smoking. That's how badly nicotine rewired my brain!

Congrats on being able to stop. Not many who try succeed.

I don't smoke so why should I have to inhale your deadly habit. I knew a lady whose husband smoked, and she didn't and she died of secondhand smoke of lung Cancer.

No you didn't, you may well have known a woman who died of lung cancer, but neither you nor anybody else can attribute that to second hand smoke. Stop making things up

Agree....frightening that one in five lung cancers are in non-smokers.

At 70 I might start...what the hell.

My fault for thinking outside the box. I was referring to the USA banning smoking in bars and restaurants in the late '90's and early 2000's. Smokers were whining. Thailand now has similar bans. I don't see ashtrays in the interior part of restaurants and bars, only where they happen to have outdoor seating, or seating near the open air.

As for a ban on smoking out on the street, I should have said 'public places' instead, such as beaches, parks, etc.. I doubt you read the Royal Gazette, because you can't even spell it correctly.

Post a link to the relevant Royal Gazette publication so I can read it.

"Post a link" implies I am asking you to do so.

English not your 1st language?

That's a directive, not a request. And you didn't say 'please'. So, search for it yourself.

Ok, so the Royal Gazette publication of the BS you claim does not exist.

Colour me surprised!

I never mentioned the Royal Gazette, other than to point our your error. You're the one obsessed with the RG. Is that your one and only source of information? Personal experience and google are where my claims come from. I'm not even sure what part of my claims you find so unbelievable, so do your own search and post it here if you wish. No doubt you were already 'colored' before our little exchange.

Anything passed into law is published in the Royal Gazette.

Please provide the official links to your claims.

Thank you for saying 'please'. I don't read the RG. Here's just a small sample from google regarding Thailand. Many other countries have similar bans.

*Smoking is strictly banned in all public parks and major tourist beaches across Thailand. Violating these rules can lead to heavy fines up to 100,000 THB ($3,000 USD) or up to one year in prison, particularly on designated protected beaches. Electronic cigarettes and vapes are completely illegal to use or possess anywhere in the country.

*Smoking inside all indoor, air-conditioned bars and restaurants in Thailand is strictly illegal under the Tobacco Products Control Act. Violating this law can result in a fine of up to 5,000 THB for the smoker, while venue owners who allow it face steeper penalties.

Yeah google/Ai dribble Ain't official!

You really gobble that up, though, and regurgitate it as fact!

I actually enjoy the smoking rooms; the smells my clothing absorbs increases tenfold and enhance the in-flight experience for the passengers who sit near me.

If they whine, I remind them that they are the reason why smoking rooms exist!

That must suck. Like farting and <deleted>ting yourself. They should let you smoke outside IMO and wouldn't bother me in the least. People get bent about stupid issues. I assume you realize most people would rather not smell you but I agree the smoking rooms are a little excessive. Maybe outside areas with fans?

A mountain of hostility over such a trivial topic. The epitome of bitterness and hatred in today's social media.

Strange use of the word "hatred" , Have the leftists been changing the meaning of words again? Even so to describe what was a relatively benign criticism of AI and ones blind faith in it as a "mountain of hostility" and "the epitome of bitterness and hatred" is a little bit of an exaggeration by any standard

Of course smoking should be allowed outside , simply restricting it to the far end of the terminal should be enough. Unfortunately there are some people who will never be satisfied.

Amusing for a 5 year old kid maybe " "phong " hahahaha very funny (not) especially considering the word means "room" in vietnamese and is nothing to do with smoking or smell "Hut Thuoc" is the bit that means "smoking" not that funny at all really is it?

An outside, open smoking area away from foot traffic and you would inhale cigarette smoke. How?

I was a hopeless smoker from the age of 15 until I was 60, when I had a serious health problem. So I completely quit smoking, and now, at 80 years old—an age I never thought I would reach—I feel great and I notice that there are now way fewer smokers than when I was young.

You'll have a hard life in Thailand as a smoker. On the contrary, you can drink beer and whisky like water, and nobody cares.

Well this could be your last cigarette

This could be the last time

Maybe the last time

I don't know

Who's your pilot?

What was his GPA in Pilot School?

All good questions to ask before booking 😀

Inside the terminal? I think i would be OK with it if the area was well ventilated but it will never be accepted by those that are offended by the smell and that seems to be the vast majority. Fortunate I don't smoke because I would dread those closed rooms. Must be a extremely difficult to kick the habit.

Let me play non-smoking Karen here….

Smoking is the epitome of sheepledom. Peer pressure prompted the weak minded betas to begin a habit which first requires they overcome nausea just so they can gain an addiction to something that might kill them, absolutely ages them faster (especially adept at making wrinkly skin), weakens their immune system, makes their teeth yellow, makes them stink like sh!t, offends sensible people, gives them the worst breath, and most certainly makes them selfish and rude (imposing their vile addiction on others). Smoking is a death wish, but sadly it often takes the innocent as well as the guilty. It certainly offends the innocent.

Smoking---the death wish part--- is incredibly selfish. It's like a guy who joins the Pattaya Flying Club by jumping off a building into a crowded street, perhaps landing on an innocent person and killing them. Kill yourselves in the privacy of your own home, far from people not prone to peer pressure, and who have discipline, will power and self respect.
