I'm not sure if this is allowed here, so I apologize if it's not. My wife and I created an app for Thai learners who want to practice reading.

We found that there's not much out there once you've learned the script. There are mostly children's books (like the Manee Mana series) and native materials that are way too advanced for most students, so there's not much in between.

So we created a graded reader app with stories for all levels, along with a modern, minimal UI/UX and all the features you'd expect from a reading app. The goal is to make the reading experience as seamless as possible.

The ideas for the stories come mainly from my wife, who's a native Thai speaker, and me, an expat from Switzerland with Asian roots. We draft the stories with AI, then revise, rewrite, and proofread them extensively to make sure the Thai is natural and that the stories are actually enjoyable to read.

Some suggestions:

-make a button as an A-B audio loop function, and a button for simply repeating the current sentence

-change the word frequency colours. The blue line is far too similar to the green

-the highlight colour mark is not clear enough in the dark

-offer more audio voices (male and female, young and old, and ideally with different accents)

-would be better if the dictionary lookup appears floating next to the selected word rather than having to look to the top of the screen

If you make an Android version, I'll download. I recommend you unlock at least one advanced reader so readers can see how good they are before paying.

Part of the problem with reading materials for Thai and any language is that almost everyone learning is a beginner or near beginner. The overwhelming number of people give up. Because of this, you will also be tempted to not pay as much attention to the intermediate and advanced reading materials, but if you do it will be something special. It is the intermediate and advanced levels that need the widest numbers of readings with the most varied scenarios and are quite desperate for somebody to come along and make materials suitable for them.

If you are looking for any other language material ideas can I point you to Thai learning dictionaries. The options are still in the year 2026 pretty dreadful. There clearly should be an intermediate Thai-English dictionary (of around 15,000 words) with sample sentences for each meaning of the Thai word.
