Traveling To Satun City What Was Your Experience There ?

Featured Replies

I plan to travel from Had Yai to Satun in about a week and would enjoy reading your recommendations for places to stay in the central part of the city. Anywhere worth visiting small villages nearby or along the coast. Moken and Urak Lawoi villages anywhere nearby ?

City is a bit of a stretch, it's a sleepy town, not an awful lot to see or do in Satun, there's museum and night market plus a wat and a mosque. I think it has a Big-C now. Several years since we were last there, stayed in the Sinkathani Hotel (spelling?) in the centre of town, clean and peaceful. Coast is largely mangroves, and there are many small rivers, so you need to go out to the islands if you want a beach, or drive up the coast toward Trang. Most people stopping in Satun are just on their way to or from the ferry.

Pleasant enough little town with a lovely riverside walk.

Easy enough to walk around and see what the town has to offer in one day.

Van to the ferry to go to Koh Lipe.
