Oh Sally, I'm so sorry for your condition. It must be a great strain to overcome a start like being born in Norfolk. You have done very well to read and write as well as you do 😍😍.

Seriously, I was based at RAF Coltishall for 6 years and I loved it. Now closed of course, which is a great shame. Norwich is one of my favorite Cities in the UK, or at least, it used to be.

Officially born in Suffolk but county border literally went through the garden. The major ley lines come out in the area where I grew up. At the other end they converge around Glastonbury.

Unfortunately Norwich is not as nice as it used to be, however it's better than Ipswich and Colchester which are pretty much ruined and not at all safe. (My grandfather's family were from that area).

I'm sad to hear that. My eldest daughter was just 4 when our Son was born there, so they viewed Norwich, or at least Norfolk, as their initial home County. We actually lived just outside Watton, close to Thetford Forrest, so quite a trek to work for me, but a great place to bring up young kids. Sad to say, most places in the UK seem to have declined in the last 20 years.

I've got a couple of ideas. I want the average AN members to be able to read stuff that they wouldn't normally be able to on their own forum. Really I'm talking sophistication. Yes! Sophisticated humour, stories and humous anecdotes on life. But not a joke section. There is enough of that on AN already. I'll kick it off, just as soon as I've returned from feeding the ducks and koi carp. And the first story will be about goldfish. Yup goldfish. Can't wait can you fellow TTers.

Must keep in mind that, content wise, and perhaps with members also, TT was a cut above AN. I, for one, would like our standard to remain at the highest possible level.

Am I right in thinking that any AN member, seeking enlightenment, cannot migrate to our wonderful side? That is not a hidden message about the dinghy divers by the way. I don't do hidden stuff. If it needs to be said I'll say it.

ThaiTiger is a website that opened it's own forum back in '21, ThaigerTalk. Since then Thaitigger bought out AseanNow. The two forums were retained. ThaigerTalk, however, ditched censorship completely late in '23, thanks to @BigHewer. Not only that but forum governance was member self-regulation. Three warnings in the last 3+ years were issued and no bans. BigHewer, the lone mod, was left to twiddle his thumbs as there wasn't much for him to do. Most of the left on that forum then ditched the forum. What remained were sensible posters. A few leftists remained.

The owners of ThaiTiger have decided to close that forum. So here we are.

We've created our own censorship free subforum here, governance as on ThaigerTalk, and we've since been recreated our existing subforms and threads.

Questions? Feel free to ask.

Here are some of the members you may have already run across. Not all have arrived yet. We've been together for quite a number of years now so we're a tight knit family.

I've been here since '04 when it was still ThaiVisa. I lived through the dark times starting with Trump's first impeachment. It went downhill fast. Posting here was like having both hands tied behind your back, hung from the rafters completely defenseless, whilst the liberals took turns whipping you. I left to seek freedom of speech. And found it. Now it's here.
