hello, since laws are changing constantly I rather ask again instead of relying on old postings. I found a company who wants to sponsor me for a work permit. I am on a tourist visa at the moment and need a non B visa to get the work permit. this is what I already know. 2 questions:

1. what neighbouring country/city is issuing one year multiple non B visas, if any? There is a possibility for me to make a quick trip to Europe to get this visa but only as last possible (and most expensive) option.

2. can I even get a multiple non B visa directly or do I get a one-entry first and later the multiple entry after I get the work permit?

None in Asia unless you have a work permit. For a multiple without a wp, you need to go outside the area of Asia.

You can get a single, then a multi later from Penang.

ok, many thanks! if I get the single first and the multiple later after wp, is there any chance of getting in thailand without having to leave for e.g. Penang? my colegue (british) did that (3 years ago). His single got changed into a multiple whilst in TH.

is it possible to leave the country on a single non B and re-enter if you get a stamp before you leave? again my colegue did this for business leaves while on a single non B (again 3 years ago).

If you are english you can go to Perth and get a 1 year multi that is the fastest way to get a visa and half the cost of going to the uk.

or you can go to KL and get a 3mth single apply for your wp when you get back then when you get your wp back to KL for a new one then restamp your wp for 3 mth then back to KL it will take you about a year to get a full 1 year visa the problem is they only stamp your wp for the time on the Visa when you ave made a few trips into KL they will then give you a 1 year visa but it takes time
