Marriage Visa amendment:

If you are applying on the basis of having 40,000 salary inside Thailand (with WP) you must also provide a location map of the company and photos of the company.

Photos of the company: What kind of photos, buildings? offices? working people?

Thanks

There has been mention of this in relation to work permits,

to make sure there are enough employees to justify the farang.

I cannot see why it should be necessary for the visa extension, but then TIT.........

A simple sketch map should suffice, but on the photo side

I suggest you ask immigration what they are expecting.

We can justify the farang. It's me and about 350 Thais!

Since number of Thais and most other employer matters are irrelevant (used to be), when applying for extension based on marriage (incl. those applications based on Thai income) - my guess is that they merely want to see evidence, that you're actually working at an actual work place, that actually does exist and where you actually have set your foot at least once.

I can confirm this new requirement based on my own recent experience of EXTENDING my Non Immigrant O Visa. You need to have a picture of your wife or you standing in front of your respective company's door or whatever that has the logo of the company on it and snap a few pictures of the interior of the office. You must also provide a stamped and signed copy of the company or school registration/license. We also gave a few company brochures that clearly stated the company's address. They also required us to present THREE pictures of my wife and I in front of our house, a close up of the house number, and a single wide angle picture of the house itself.

I suggest you only go to extend your visa a few days before it expires because we were told that they calculate the year extension from your reapplication date. Do not go a month in advance to extend your Non Immigrant O Visa because you will essentially be losing a month of stay in Thailand.

But if you start the process one month before your visa expires, you should get your visa renewed before your WP expires and then you can renew your WP and not have to have the temporary WP for a few weeks while they process the visa application.

I usually apply for my one year EXTENSION a full month before the current expiry date. I believe that's the earliest date I can apply. This allows plenty of time to comply with all the supporting paperwork required by Immigration, as it seems to change each year I apply, AND be ready for next WP extension before the expiry date.

In my case, each year I don't lose any days, and the next year starts on the actual expiry date, and NOT the application/approval date.

For a family extension you will need the normal things - like the spouse, ID card, Home Register, your passport/copies, arrival card/copies, TM.7 with current 4x6cm photo, marriage certificate/copy. You may also be asked for bank passbook/bank letter. Recently there has been a push to be sure there are family photos in the file so you may want to have a few photos together in and outside home (to include home number sign).

In Phuket we have never been asked for any photos or company location map when applying for visa extensions (based on marriage to Thai national) at Immgration.

But at Labour office I am always asked for map of company location (no photos) when extending WP.

And I have never heard of any office requiring new documents from District Office each year that you are still married, but it seems to be required from you or your office so always best to be prepared for the unexpected no mater how much baggage you carry.
