Korean Tourist Assaults Woman in Pub

Pattaya Police was informed by Mrs. Montichata Pankaew, aged 32, a singer at the Star Dice Pub, Naklua, that she had been assaulted by a Korean tourist at her work place on 6th September.

Limjun Yong, aged 32, from Korea was brought into Pattaya Police Station by friends of Khun Montichata and staff of Star Dice Pub.

Khun Montichata stated that when she finished singing she came down to take care of customers that were celebrating their birthday there. Limjun Yong, sitting at a nearby table, suddenly approached her and grabbed her breasts, which she returned with a slap.

Limjun Yong got angry and attacked her; so staff helped detain the man and took him to the police.

Limjun Yong was still in a drunken condition but was locked up and will be charged when he sobers up.

A very common statement .. especially in venues with Thai singers. After performing their set, they are usually expected to sit at a table with guests (especially Thais), chat a bit, pour a drink or so.

While many Thai singers are "available", that status should never be considered as certain. The man was out of line. He could easily have been charged with assault .. or a group of her friends could have beaten the hel_l out of him.
