So What Visa Changes Were Announced On 10th Sept?

Featured Replies

SunbeltAsia indicated that the rumoured visa regulation changes would be formally announced on September 10th.

Since it's now one day after that, does anyone know the 'hard' facts now?

Simon

The 10th was based on normal time to publication but that has not yet happened. Sunbelt has reported that Immigration officials still say, as of yesterday, there has been no change and the official document is awaiting publication. An offer was extended to anyone in Bangkok who would like to talk with immigration officials by Sunbelt in the long thread so perhaps we will see someone taking up that offer and reporting back. A few days delay is not unexpected for most of us living in Thailand I suspect. Hopefully it may result in a better document.

or - continuous ambiguity encouraging multifarious interpretation by bumptious juniors and their nefarious seniors.

I'm not holding my breath, Lop, but admire your optimism. :o

Ambiguity is nothing new; it's sometimes the only permanent thing about immigration policy. I'm feeling somewhere between bumptious and nefarious, somewhere between junior Peter Pan and senior old fart. I can still hold my breath for 65 seconds, though. :o

PB you should learn to breath through your ears,,,,sorry Sweetie, couldnt resist. :o

When you arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport, they should just

stick a post-it in everyones passport:

"Check for changing visa regulations daily, it is the alien's

responsibility to be aware of status of current Immigration

code as it is likely to be updated every 24 hours." :o
