Thailand says Abe's resignation will not affect ties with Japan

BANGKOK, Sept. 12 KYODO

The resignation of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will not affect long-standing relations between Japan and Thailand, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Wednesday.

''We have had close ties for 120 years. Regardless of leadership change in Japan, our bilateral relationship will remain strong as always and Japan will remain as an important player in the region,'' Piriya Khempon told reporters.

It's just that.

The whole of Asia has collectively enjoyed Japan's power for several decades so change of JP Prime Minister won't hurt.
