Well to go with the vey cold Jack Daniels, and the cold showers I am looking to buy a Hammock.

But a very specific type...the one that 1.5 mtr wide and 2.5 mtr long. It also has a piece of wood at both ends.

Don't care what the colour is but would prefer nylon strung but cotton would do or rope for that matter.

Ask a Truck driver ?? drive along any road see tress + truck, you see loads of different types to Hammocks

Many mom & pop hardware stores that sell nylon ropes stock them. Also look in shops that sell fishing supplies, nets & ropes.

Afraid I have never seen such a contraption such as that in Homemart / Homepro etc....

Soundman.

I am looking for one like the OP too. I don't want the kind you usually see at the side of the road.

You can buy hammocks in backpacker areas like khaosan Road also this company designs and sells hammocks in Bangkok

Thanks for this the link is just what the doctor ordered. :o

The locally made/sold ones usually lack the timber cross-pieces.

These are easily made - just nick a birdmouth into either end of a straight piece of lumber and thread it through. One near the foot, one near the head.

Plenty of pillows, lie back and relax. Pimm's No. 1 on a side table, of course.

In Pattaya, on Sukhumvit road, just after the footbridge, driving north of Bangkok Pattaya hospital, there's a soi down on the left, at the end of the soi is a shop like Lukdod, selling tourist gear to Russians. I've seen several different types of hammocks there, all cheapish and with the wood thingy.

Can't recall the name of the place, maybe someone else knows....

Edit: There's a sign to a BMW garage at the entrance of the soi.

Hey .. those chairs look neat!

So do those things around the bed but I can imagine myself getting a toe caught in the netting and falling out of bed noggin first. :o

Well again thanks very much. Your directions were spot on.

And I am pleased to say that I am a proud owner of a very nice hammock with the wooden spread bar at each end. :o:D:D:D

The cost... well 500 baht! Excellent value considering what others were charging.

Worth the trip, easy to find but I would suggest you leave your car at the entrance to the small soi as it is a dead end.
