New Tourist Visa After 90 Days

Featured Replies

Hi, I am travelling around Asia and have already done 85 days in Thailand on and off in the last 6 months. I am now in Japan and would like to go back for 2 weeks to do a mediaiton course I have heard about. At the moment I only have 5 days left of my visa but I have heard that it is possible to pay and get another 30 visa from the Thai embassy? Is this right? If not do I have any other options? I am from the UK by way. Thanks very much in advance for any help.

Ianw, what you have been using so far are visa-exempt-entries.

If you look at your entry stamp, there is a line for visa-class and immigration

will have written or typed ผ.30, which basically means permitted to stay 30 days.

It seems like at this point you need to get an actual tourist visa good for 60 days.

Tourist visas are normally extendable for an additional 30 days for 1,900 baht.

You haven't provided any exact dates of your previous entries/exits so it's

difficult to explore any other options with certainty concerning your remaining

visa-exempt days. The other complicating factor of course, is that

even boarding at the airport in Japan without a Thai visa, you may be required

to show proof of onward travel out of Thailand. So again, if you've already used

up 85 out of 90 days within 6 months better to get an actual tourist visa. :o

He is in Japan and has used 85 days of his permitted 90 days. He can not enter for another 30 day visa exempt stay. And do not believe Thai Consulates in Japan will issue visas to non residents so he will need to make entry via Malaysia or Singapore or other country where he obtains a tourist visa and then arrives in Thailand and obtains a 60 day visa entry.
