I will be coming to live in Hua Hin on an Australian Tourist Visa, 60 days i think which can then be extended for another 30 days at Bangkok Immigration.

What I want to know is...when that Visa expires is it possible to go to Penang or KL and be granted another Tourist Visa of 60 days rather than having to return to Australia each time for such renewals.

I am not sure of policy in Penang or KL of granting such a visa and as to how many

times one can do this before it is no longer allowed.

Many thanks

You do not have to go back, just do a search on here for penang, and you will get all the info you need, including hotels, flights and trains.

If I remember the train from HH leaves about 7pm.

18.34pm :ohttp://www.seat61.com/Thailand.htm#Singapore Why dont you apply for a Non Immigrant O visa in Oz i hear the Consulates there are "user friendly" that would give you 90 day stay and if you apply for the multiple entry version you can nip over the border and straight back in for another 90 days...........Non Imms (multiple) are valid for 1 year, so that would give you a good stint here!

What is Oz or where is it??

Hello Thaiflyer1,

I'm a Colombian woman living with my boyfriend (German) here in Thailand since December. I got my 60 days visa before arrive, then I went to Singapur and got another 60 days entry permit. Then I went to KL to get a new visa, which I got without any problems for 60 days. Then I went to Hong Kong to get a re-entry before my 60 days expired and I got 60 days more. This 60 days expires on the 18th of August.

My question is if I can keep doing the same, I mean flying somewhere to get the re-entry or the visa without any problem?? How many times the Thai law allows me to renewal the visas??

The Consulates have the last word and can set any amount they feel is right. Immigration can also refuse to accept a visa if they have doubts. But the only answer anyone can be sure of is that we don't know. If you stay out of Thailand a few days each time your chance of a new visa probably improves. And having the money to fly may also be an advantage. But you can expect to be asked how you survive at some point as the computer shows your long list of "visits" increasing.

Theoretically it is possible to do this but in practice you may find that some Thai consular offices are reluctant to issue back-to-back-tourist visas (Singapore for example, has a reputation for being difficult). The assumption made is that you are working in Thailand and you may be asked to demonstrate that this is not the case. How does your German boyfriend handle his visa situation?

You'll come to Thailand on a Thai tourist visa obtained in Australia. Why not get a double entry tourist visa before you leave Australia. It'd save a lot of fuss and enable you to stay up to 6 months.

You must be very, very persuasive or very, very lucky Miss Columbia. :o

I'm not working here and I think to demonstrate that should be easy. If they ask for money, it's not the main problem neither, I have my money as well as my boyfriend has his money.

My boyfriend has a business visa but not a formal work visa, that's why he cannot help me out with my visa through the company he's working for. :o

You probably won't have to demonstrate your non-work status just yet but it's something to keep in the back of your mind for further down the road.

To demonstrate this you should show money from outside Thailand that is used for your support. A boyfriend in questionable status and local funds is not going to be of much value I suspect. If you are using ATM to draw money you should save receipts in case you are ever asked.
