Last Minute Flight Deals From Suvanapbhumi

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am thinking about flying to Dubai this evening to suprise my brother who lives there. I don't have a ticket but I have called a travel agent and also Emirates ticket office in BKK. They have both quoted me about 23-24k Baht.

Last time I flew there (a few months ago) it was 20k, although I booked it about 4 weeks in advance.

Does anyone know of a good way to get last minute discounted flights? Is it possible to turn up at the Emirates office in Suvanabhumi before the flight leaves and get a cheap deal? Any experiences/suggestions?

Cheers.

Sorry to disappoint you. The earlier you book and pay for your air travel, the cheaper you will get it. You could find all the economy class seats are sold on your flight and there's only the very expensive Business Class seats left at Business Class prices.

When I came back to Australia from Bangkok, my flight was full, so my Thai partner was booked on a later flight. The Thai Airways office in Khon Kaen suggested he come with me to Suvanabhumi at 5.30am on the off chance of a Standby ticket on my flight. After I checked in, we both went to the Standby counter.

He was told there were no seats available on my flight (this is 10 minutes after check in started, 1 hour 50 minutes prior to departure) - but if he would like to buy a ticket on my flight (non-refundable) and tear up his ticket on a BKK-BNE flight due in 2 days (which I paid 41,000 baht for - return BKK-BNE-BKK) he 'could maybe' get a seat on my flight.

I think this is the only time I have been really angry with a Thai - I told her she was a thief and a disgrace to Thai Airways. My partner took a taxi back to our hotel for a few days. He was as disgusted with her as I was.
