Hi,

Just a quickie, hopefully some one out there can put my mind at rest.

I am a UK citizen, who has been working and living in Thailand for 7 years since 2000, i have a Thai wife and together we have a daughter. Recently, due to work i had to move and be based in China.

I plan to come back each month for 3-4 days visit.

Will i be able to enter Thailand every month just using the Tourist stamp issued at the immigration (Airport) or do i need to apply for some type of visa.

I did go to the immigration office in Bangkok, and they said no need for visa as i could come and go on the tourist visa, as i would only be staying here a relative small amount of time each year.

However, i have heard people speaking about only 3 visits per year ?

So a little confused.

Thanks for any help.

Peter.

You can enter on 30day visa free entry stamps freely, the restriction is not how many times you enter but the time you spend in Thailand. You cannot spend more than 90days in any 6 month period in Thailand using this method.

You may find after a few visits you are held up in immigration while the IO goes through your passport to counts the days and you may want to consider getting a Multi Entry Non Imm 'O' visa which will give you unlimited entry for 12 months.

Nothing to worry about. I live in Lao and have a full Lao work permit and 12 month visa and visit over to Thailand ever month for a day or two (sometime 3 or 4 or twice in a month) - never any problems regarding the number of stamps in the passport. As you'll have a work visa for China if they question anything just point them to that for proof that you only intended a short stay.

As was previously said the rule is 90 days in 6 months . .. . so you'd need be spending over 15 days per month to be worried about this rule!
