Columbians Arrested for Theft of Valuables from Parked Cars

The Metropolitan 4 Police team arrested two suspected Colombian thieves, along with a Thai female accomplice, believed to have stolen valuables of more than 4 million baht from a parked car.

Police from the Metropolitan 4 Police Division reveal that two Colombian suspects, a 27-year-old and a 29-year-old man, were arrested due to their alleged part in a robbery of gold and diamond jewelry, worth over 4 million baht.

The arrest was the result of cooperation between the Metropolitan 4 Police and police team from the Lardprao Police Station. The police team reveals that a 32-year-old female Thai accomplice is currently also in police custody.

A total of 154 karat of diamonds and 300 pieces of gold accessories, including necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings were seized as evidence. The police also seized the Ford car the robbers used to commit the crime.

Recently, the gang robbed more than four million baht worth of valuables from a car belonging to Niran Pattanapong, a worker at a gold and diamond jewelry shop, when the car was parked at the Tawanna Plaza in the Bangkapi area.

The police reveal the three suspects are believed to have committed robberies many times before. The police say the gang breaks the window of the victims' cars to take the valuables. The valuables, many of which are gold, are remade and sold in Malaysia.

The team is currently hunting for another accomplice who escaped capture. As revealed by the police team, the gang was once arrested in Italy. The police team also asks those who are victimized to report their cases to the police team.
