We wish the King a speedy recovery. He is the lynchpin of Thailand today. Only Buddha knows what's next.

Every day the King is alive there remains hope that people can love their leaders.

Where else in the world is there one man that more than 65 million people sincerely love one person?

Even though we must accept the King is getting older, everyday he is with us he ensures Thailand's peace, harmony and stability.

God save the King, Long live the King Bhumibol Adulyadej

I share the sentiments of others and hope that his recovery will be swift.

Thailand would not be quite the same without him.

He is one of the few examples of a wise monarch.

Thailand's king taken to hospital

BANGKOK: -- Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej is in hospital after feeling weak in his right side, the royal palace has said.

The 79-year-old king was taken to Bangkok's Siriraj hospital on Saturday morning, where scans revealed an inadequate blood supply to his brain.

The condition improved after treatment but requires further observation.

King Bhumibol, the world's longest reigning current monarch, is greatly revered in Thailand and his health is a subject of great national concern.

A statement from the Bureau of the Royal Household said scans had revealed "a minimal cerebral ischemia" on the left side of the king's brain, meaning that part of his brain was not receiving enough blood to function normally.

"The team of royal physicians then recommended hospitalisation for treatment and observation," the statement said.

"After a period of approximately eight hours of treatment, the weakness of the right leg has improved," it added.

Concerns over King Bhumibol's health have deepened since he underwent spinal surgery last year, after complaining of back pain.

Since that operation, the monarch has rarely appeared in public.

When ever Thailand upsets me with its ways

I think of the King and his deep love for his people

I would like also to be one of the many Farlangs together with my Thai wife send him our blessing and wish him a quick recovery

Long Live The King!!! Hope he makes a quick and easy recovery. Sometime back when while suffering from a bent femur, the King said, "My leg is bent but my heart is not bent." Despite all these ailments the man still cares for his people so much more than many of those who actually run the country.

Long live His Majesty the King! Our respect and prayers go out to his Majesty. We hope and pray that he will live healthy and rule for many more years.

May God Bless (and to all the Buddhists, may Lord Buddha do the same) this wonderful man to a speedy recovery. Having read up on some of the King's life and his accomplishments, he is a shining example for not only Thais, but the rest of us as well.
