pontious
Tried the motoring forum-no answers We have moved to Jomtien from south Thailand . 1. Do we have to re-register our car here and get Chonburi plates? 2. If yes -any advice where/how would be much appreciated. P
Mobi
No you don't. When the vehicle needs its annual licence renewed, just go to the vehicle centre in Pattaya with the car documents and renew. You don't have to change plates.
monty
Only problem would be if you want to sell the car! A transfer of ownership can only be done at the MOT branch where it is registered.
timekeeper
you do not need to actually go back there to change the cars ownership, it can be done for you in Pattaya by a government registered inspection agent on Sukhumvit Road between Pattaya Klang and Pattaya Nua. its on the left side heading towards Bangkok . it costs around 4000 baht and takes about two weeks to get the book back. his name is Gook (sounds like that)and he is very helpful. i hope that helps
