Okay, Scouse as requested.

My first question though is;

Why do West Ham fans sing about blowing Bubbles?

Cheers, HH. :D

More than happy to oblige :D

As Celtic supporters also sing You'll Never Walk Alone does that also mean that there's a Liverpool/Celtic connection ? As I always thought that it was more Celtic/Everton. Especially as Everton have their own version of the Celtic song.

Notts County have a song called "The wheel Barrow song". For them lot it has to be easy to remember, so here are the words

I had a wheel barrow the wheel fell off , I had a wheel barrow the wheel fell off. Repeat , repeat & repeat as many times as you like or until you get punched by the irate bloke next to you :o

The connection is Liverpool/Celtic and Everton /Rangers , a catholic - protestant thing.

Gerry and the pacemakers had a hit with it in the early 60's and we took it in as our song , a few other clubs ( not just Celtic ) also sing it at their home games ,but no where near as good or with as much passion as the Liverpool fans.

You'll Never Walk Alone :o .

Cheers mate, Know the song well from the 60's.

But there's been some ambiguity about the connections with the Old Firm. I once knew an Evertonian that swore the alliegance was Everton/Celtic and that they were the Catholic Club and not Liverpool. Which did suprise me, as most think that it's the opposite. But as I've aready said, Everton do have their own version of the Celtic Song. So I'm still not entirely sure. :o

About the passion bit though. I think that Celtic supporters have a passion next to none. :D

Everton have a chapel at their ground.

Sorry mate, forgive my ignorance. But what does that mean ? A Protestant chapel ? :o

Come to think of it, I remember that I've heard something about this before.

Can you dot he 'I's' on this one. Cheers. :D

A Chapel is Catholic and a cHurch is either catholic or whatever.

Everton F.C.

Everton Football Club is a football club based in the city of Liverpool in Merseyside, England. Founded in 1878, the club have played more seasons in the top flight of English football than any other, have been English football champions nine times and also have five FA Cup trophies to their name.

Their home ground, known as Goodison Park, has a capacity of 40,260. Their fans are known as Evertonians and the club's nickname is the Toffees or the Blues.

History

The club's roots lie in an English Methodist congregation called New Connexion founded by Liam Jones in 1865, who decided to build a new chapel in the Liverpool area in 1868. The following year, the church bought some land on Breckfield Road North, between St. Domingo Vale and St. Domingo Grove. This was located near the district of Everton, which had become part of the City of Liverpool in 1835.

St. Domingo Methodist Church's new chapel was opened in 1871 and six years later, Rev B.S. Chambers was appointed Minister. He was responsible for starting a cricket team for the youngsters in the parish. Because cricket can only be played in the summer, they had to find something to play during the other seasons as well. So a football club called St. Domingo F.C. was formed in 1878.

Many people outside the parish were interested in joining the football club so it was decided that the name should be changed. In November 1879 at a meeting in the Queen's Head Hotel, the team name was changed to Everton Football Club, after the surrounding district.

They were founder members of the Football League, they lost two FA Cup finals, in 1893 and 1897 before winning at their third attempt in 1906 against Newcastle United. They unfortunately lost the following year 1907.

HH , was the Evertonion you knew a scouser ???? , 'cause I can tell you it IS Liverpool / Celtic and Blue Shi#te / Rangers.

The history goes back to when a load of Irish migrants came to Liverpool after WW2 and all the catholics supported us and the protestants supported them.

What version of the celtic song do Everton have ????????.

Anyway , I do agree that the Celtis supportes have a passion next to ......... the Liverpool supporters :D:D

Keith was indeed a Scouser. And a fine, sensitive, socialist soul he was too. [/b] :D

You know better than me . :D

Not exactly relevant, and different to you. But you wouldn't believe the amount of younger West Ham supporters who refuse to accept that there used to be a West Ham/Celtic connection. :o

Anyway the Celtic Song is all here. With the Everton version at the end of the page.

Chelsea's "one man went to mow" is also another annoying 'song'.

That was about the limitof their vocab going back 20 years ago. :o

They used to sing that one a lot at Plymouth (Green Scum) as well, back in the mid 80's.

this is a great song. first song in the annie road in '77.

tune - red river valley the sash my father wore

Poor Scouser Tommy

I'll tell you a story of a poor boy

Who was sent far away from his home

To fight for his king and his country

And also the old folks back home

So they put him in the Highland division

Sent him off to a far foreign land

Where the flies flew around in their thousands

And there's nothing to see but the sand

Well the battle started next morning

Under the Libyan sun

I remember a poor Scouser Tommy

Who was shot by an old Nazi gun

As he lay on the battle field dying (dying dying)

With the blood rushing out of his head (of his head)

As he lay on the battle field dying (dying dying)

These were the last words he said...

Oh... I am a Liverpudlian

I come from the Spion Kop

I love to sing, I love to shout

I go there quite a lot

We support a team who plays in red

A team that we all know

A team that we call Liverpool

And to glory we will go

We've won the League

We've won the Cup

We've been to Europe too

We played the Toffees for a laugh

And we left them feeling blue

Five Nil !

One two

One two three

One two three four

Five nil !

Rush scored one

Rush scored two

Rush scored three

And Rush scored four!

Na na na na na na na na na!

Here's a couple of classic songs:

This one for Mourinhio, although now a little dated:

"Jose, wherever you may be,

Ji Sung Park ate your dog for tea,

You won ###### all and your dog is dead,

Why don't you get a cat instead. "

A Derby chant aimed at luckless Wise:

"Wise, Wise whatever have you done,

You've put Leeds in Division One,

You won't win a Cup,

You won't win a shield,

Your biggest game will be Huddersfield"

Gotta give credit to the guys that make these songs up.

Not to sure if HH will be fond of this :o ( when I used to sing this on the Kop we sung "throwing bottles" not "blowing bubbles" ) :

.:: Forever Blowing Bubbles ::.

I'm forever blowing bubbles

Pretty bubbles in the air

They fly so high

Nearly reach the sky

Then like West Ham

They fade and die

Tottenham's always running

Chelsea's running too

And if you come to Anfield

We'll be running after you

and here is a little something for the late game at Villa Park tonight,

I want you all to sing along to the tune of Robin Hood............

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing,

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing,

Feared by the blues, loved by the reds,

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs.

Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs, running down the wing

Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs, crosses like The King

Beats one and two, beats three and four,

He will score, he will score, he will score.

Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs, greatest ever goal

Semi-Final Villa Park, ran right through them all

Beat half the team, straight in the net

Won't forget, won't forget, no we won't forget.

The old ones are always the best. :o To prove how old it is, original had something about Forest running too. :bah:

To which the erudite West Ham reply was:

"You're going home in a f-a-c-k-i-n-g ambulance" :D

I remember visiting the Southend ground at Roots Hall where there had been a Cup match against Liverpool a bit earlier. Some of the visting supporters had sprayed graffiti near the turnstiles proclaiming "The Kop Welcomes Cockney's".

Someone should have told them, :D

You've lost your hairline Phelan,

You've lost you're harline Phelan,

Now it's gone, gone gone..woahhhhhhh....
