A Thai friend has invited me to go by their car to visit

Rong Kluea Market

I have never been to that area before

I am told it is beyond Thai Immigration

at Ban Aranyaprathet ...

but BEFORE Cambodian Border / Immigration.

Is that Correct?

Is it acceptable for a Foreign passport holder to leave

Thailand at that point and re-enter Thailand

without having entry & exit stamps for Cambodia?

Or is that acceptable only for Thai Citizens?

I have a "Retirement" Visa and Re-entry Permit.

Can I expect any Visa Problems?

If you have a re-entry permit there should not be any problem. Do not know the border conditions but expect they would require you obtain visa and make official crossing if you want to visit the Cambodian side. I suspect they are talking it is past the city immigration office as the immigration office is at the border as far as I know.

If you are going to the Rong Kleua market you will not pass the Thai immigration. So no problems, no stamps or anything. But do take your passport with you as there are usually a few checkpoints. Normally they do not bother the farang .... but just in case.

Now if they mean that they are visiting the casino's you will have to cross Thai immigration.

I was out to the market area this past Sunday.  Wow!!  It's sure changed and much larger than my last visit 3-4 years back.  Went to the 3rd turn-in, the one with the large poster of the King up front, parked way in back.  Seems to me there used to be a lot more "hardware" related items, this time fewer and much more clothing.

FYI, the left turn to the market area is BEFORE entering the Immigration & border area, so no problem.

The Army checkpoint just after Wattana Nakhon just waved me through.
