Went to immigration yesterday to apply for my 3rd Non O extension. I had all paperwork

ready to show the 400k in the bank as I was grandfathered in under the old laws.

They were not interested in seeing any money in the bank at all, but kept asking for tax

documents. In the end we were given a form to present at the local amphur office to declare

40k per month.

My wife filled out all the documents at the amphur office that she earns 40k per month, and then we

took the certificate back to immigration. They took this along with the letter from my bank to show the

400k, and now the application for extension is progress.

Oh and paid the usual immigration fee!

It worked out at arround 1500 baht in tax for 6 months income.

It would appear that (as prediced by posters) grandfather is dead, at least on Samui
