What is the best steak resturant in Bangkok? All price ranges.

Also, do really good Mexican food resturants exist in Bangkok? I know of 1 place on Soi 11 (kind of hidden off soi 11) thats got pretty good Mex food, but any more?

Thanks

What type of steak do you want? You can find Firestone, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Goodyear... :o

hmmm...best steak in Bkk was at my house last night.

My missus, being an excellent cook, has become bored with cooking thai lately, so has cooked more farang food this last few months than in the last 10 years.

I found this steak in Sukhumvit yesterday, it looked very tasty, but it was priced very low, I thought that was the chaepest steak I have seen here that looks that good. I am sure it was labelled from Oz, but then when she labeled it, it said thai chuck steak.

I was worried, thought I had just bought all the steak they had and got it cut up thick and I would be eating/chewing thai chuck.

I hoped all the way home she had made a labeling mistake.

I was right, it was awesome......and so god dam_n cheap. I might go back today to see if there is any more and priced the same way.

By the way, she cooked it perfectly, with mashed potatoe, gravy, snow peas, cauliflower, carrots and asparagus.

I like the steaks at Prime in the Millennium Hilton.

Chok Chai steakhouse near Zeer Rangsit is very good.

Chokchai has a branch in Asoke. Taste is quite good, if you can get the Australian you won't have to chew so much. Santa Fe is a bit thinner but much cheaper for the same average quality of Thai beef.

J W Marriott is very good but you're talking roughly 2000 baht a head there. So is Neil's Tavern, with branches in Soi Ruam Rudee and Asoke, with US beef but also on the expensive side.

Anyone try the place at the Landmark?

Decent view from their Rib Room but probably the worse steak from a 'steak house' I have had in BKK.

I will see if I kept my complaining email correspondences with their farang manager from a few months ago and post them.

Avoid.

Haha... and they claim to be the best - they certainly are the newest, so I wasn't about to become a guinea pig. Thanks for the review.

I'm in Japan now on my way to the US, so I will be pigging out on as much beef as I can in both countries... don't particularly care for travelling but being able to eat good always makes up for it!

Neil's is worth every satang.

Personally, I agree. But it's still expensive :o
