Renew Non-imm B (business Only) In Thailand?

I was one of the lucky folks who happened upon the accidental "3 year" Non-B business visa in Chicago in 2004. I am a company director here in Thailand and that is my basis for the non-imm B multi-entry. I've been doing this quite a few years. I'm currently back on the 1-year Non-B. I do not have a work permit, since I do not work here, only act as company director and visit frequently for meetings, quality control, and buying loads of stuff.

I have two questions:

1) What ever happened to the 3-year non-B? It was very convenient for doing business here. Is there a way to apply?

2) Can I renew my non-B here in Thailand? Or do I have to do it in another country? I travel all around the region and frequently I'm in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Laos. Any recommendations among those locations? Or is it best to wait for a return to Chicago?
