Just a quick question: Which Ranong do you mean? There are several cities / towns of this name in Thailand... If you mean Ranong on the west near Myanmar check out the * Sin Thawi / Sintavee Hotel * Jansom Hot Spa Ranong Hotel (near the gas station) * Kiwi Orchid Guesthouse The EIFFEL INN HOTEL is too far away from the city... it takes a walk of minimum 20 minutes - and IIRC there are no bus stops near this hotel... Kiwi/Thai
Hi PST Try the Sunny Lodge. Its about TB300-TB500 depending on aircon. They do delicious food and cheap grog, TB60 G&T's TB40 tiger. The rooms are clean and the foyer/dining area could be anywhere in the world, really modern. If you stay there cross the road and checkout the bike shop. The guy must have been collecting bikes for years, very very cool, like a museum. To get there follow the signs to The Royal Princess Hotel, just before the RP you will see 4 story shop houses both left and right. The Sunny Lodge is the first one on the left with the name painted on the exterior wall, you shouldn't be able to miss it. The family that runs it is cool. The husband speaks perfect english, the wife is shy and speaks only a little. They might even collect your from immigration 077 812132.
