Visa extension bangkok v.s kap choeng

Recommended Posts

I didnt get much respond from my last posting so post again.

Anyone that has been to kap choeng and extended their non O visas.

How did the immigration treat you, welcome or unwelcome?

and what about witnesses, iam thinking of this paragraph

7. Evidence to identify that the supporter or the one being supported has a Thai nationality or has residence in Thailand.

a friend of mine did his ext in bkk and the imm send a letter to the closest police station and they came for a visit to check that they where living together, filled out the paper and send it back to bkk.

another friend (phuket) had to bring to witnesses to ensure that they live together.

Whats your experience?

I have no idea about the requirements/reception (or even where it is) of the place you mention but the Immigration Police are required to check residence if you do not provide other proof.  In Bangkok they want to talk with wife and have photos of you together (either marriage or in your home); as well as a home register or possibly lease.  If you have these items believe they do not have to make a physical check but in todays world who knows.

I had not heard of Kap Choeng before either so maybe that it why you got no replies.

I have looked it up and I presume it is the crossing point in Surin.

Are you sure this border point has full international status ?

That would account for a lack of welcome from the immigration boys.

The border crossing is chong choem and its international its an casino on the cambodian sidnce October 20, 2002

(There is now an official border crossing into Kampuchea at Chong Chom in Surin Province. The crossing is approximately 70 km south of Surin and similar to Aranyapratet without most of the hassle. )

I'm getting married next month, in Surin Amphur Prasat. We will register the mariage in Prasat, and apply at immigration in Pattaya where we are going to live. The information i have gathered from the ministry of foriegn affairs website is that you can apply in Thailand, any imigration office. You need to bring mariage certificate, house registration if she owns a house, pictures preferebly of the wedding, your birth certificate from your home country,  and her birth certificate. She has t fill out most of the paperwork.

Are you sure that birth certificates are required for non-immigrant visa extension?  Never have been in the past that I know of.
