Changing From Tourist Visa To Apply For Work Permit?

Featured Replies

Hello,

How easy is it to apply for work-permit, whilst being on a tourist visa in Thailand?

I needed to follow up my previous topic, where I needed to know what type of visa to apply for (tourist or non-immigration visa - going out mid December and have a return ticket end of March. Swedish citizen with permanent residence status in the UK, married to a Thai (no certificate), less than 50 years of age, parents living in Thailand until March next year and then are coming back in October and also have a relative/good friend in Thailand who are married to a Thai and have children, Conclusion was tourist visa or arrange to get in touch with the Thai council in Hull).

If I happen to get a job offer, whilst there, I would like start as soon as possible (permanent, contract, or temporary).

Cheers,

J

And I would like to follow procedure and common practise, but don't have the experience of these matters fully as yet... (hence the postings)

EDIT: I guess there are 2 scenarios? I'd either have to get a return flight UK - Thailand, apply for non immigration B, come back and then apply for work permit (cost £££). Or second scenario is that I try to get a non immigration O, which might carry the possibility to apply for work permit in the Kingdom...

Guys,

This thread can be closed, as I've should've continued my ramblings on my other thread instead. Apologies...
