topic title is self-explanatory...do they have a branch in Pattaya or surrounding? Checked on their website and it doesn't seem like, but I couldn't really figure whether I used that branch locator corretly either...

If there were I guess I would have seen it by now as it would be

unlikely to be hidden down a soi. So I think not.

this is a joke right?

if not, i think it is still the law in los that foreign banks are only allowed 1 branch in thailand. therefore, most [all?] foreign banks chose to locate it in bangkok. SCB's office in on Sathon at Chong Nosi BTS station I believe. i believe this will change sometime in the future as foreign banking liberalization is on the government's agenda.

Think the nearest branch is on Sukhumvit in Rayong? Sure they used to have one in Royal Garden, but no longer there ?

Standard Chartered has many branches in BKK...Ramkhamhaeng, Pinklao, Silom are just a few examples. They are not a 100% foreign bank here, they bought Nakornthon Bank to get past the legal requirements.

in the meantime I also found out that I can pay for my health insurance at any Ayutthaya branch, although it is a Standard Chartered account...transfer by ATM is not possible, though...amazing Thai banks....
