King's Birthday Muay Thai?

Anyone have any info on this year's event?

I can only find information about past years on the net...

"December 5th is one of the most celebrated days in Thailand as it is the Birthday of His Majesty. It is a national holiday and as the King’s colour is yellow every Thai wears a yellow shirt to show their love for His Majesty. Muaythai has a long tradition and so it is that the biggest Muaythai event in the world is staged outside the famous Wat Phra Keo in the Grand Palace."

thanks

PS what is with the layout of this forum?! it takes sooooooo long to read a single topic, having to click on each reply!

Free. Just turn up.

Usually in the late afternoons and evenings, however, last year on the 4th - started at 5.00pm and finished at 2.30am. Long card & is also televised live.

On the 5th there'll be the finals and closing ceremony of the amateur Muaythai World Championships from 4pm, then the candle ceremony at 7.30, then the professional King's Birthday Gala fights (Super 8 etc) from 8pm. It's all at Sanam Luang, just turn up, no entry fee.
