Best method to remain in Thailand 30-90 days post divorce?

Featured Replies

If needed to tie up loose ends... What is best method to remain in Thailand after marriage extension is dissolved? 30 60 days

What are current requirements for retirement extension? Checklist?? Might someone detail what it would take to convert (CW) if possible and applying fresh after time outside please?

Banking well established

Checklists appreciated

Many thanks

What is expiry date on current permission of stay?

Are you currently married.

What is longer term plan.

If you want to live ongoing in Thailand you would need to change to extensions based on retirement.

That's possible.

Depending on circumstances some opt to "start over"

The most important thing is, when does your extension end?

If your extension ends outside of this 30-60 days that you need, then just don't notify immigration of your divorce.  Ride out the time you need and then leave Thailand.  Your extension will run out naturally, as you stated you want to spend some time outside of Thailand.  Apply for a new non-O visa based on retirement, or get whatever new visa you are planning to start over on from the Thai embassy, and then you can start the extension process once you're in Thailand on your new visa.

Do not inform Immigration of your divorce, and follow the good advice given by @BrandonJT above.

You wouldn't be converting from marriage to retirement.
It would be a new application from a new Non Imm O visa based on retirement.

Financial requirements for an extension based on retirement.

If your current wife extension is not expired, and you have not gotten the divorce by the Judge / Ampur, and you have the added 400,000 baht.

Switch to Non- O retirement visa.

The procedure takes a day, once you have all their paperwork. They will asked "why"  tell them less hassle, and no consideration stamp.  "DO NOT TELL THEM YOU ARE GETTING DIVORCE"

Once divorced, go to your Embassy get an letter of affidavit, of your passport, get the letter translated into Thai.

Take all that the Ampur required and get your divorce certificate and register your divorce.

You are done.

To change to extension retirement the OP would require 800k in bank for 2 months.

In any event the OP has provided no details or added post for clarification in entire thread.
