I just secured one in Vientiane. I am married to a Thai, I don't know your situation. I took copies of the following:

1. Marriage certificate

2. My wife's Tabian Baan (House deeds). Or those of the owner of the house you rent.

3. My children's birth certificates, though I don't believe they are necessary.

4. Copy of your passport (main details page)

5. Two passport size photos or yourself.

6. Copy of your wife's ID card.

7. Two thousand baht.

Submit to the Thai consulate in the morning. Pick it up the next afternoon.

Savannakhet also have a consulate, same procedure.

Hi,

I just want to know if you had to show proof of wages. I'm in the same situation and require to do a visa run. I have a wife and child, but showing proof of 40 000 baht/month is proving to be a bit difficult for me. Have you gone through this? Were you able to get 1 year extention on this visa?

Thanks in advance for your help and information.

The last reports on this forum show that you don't need any proof of income or money on a bank to get a 1 year multiple entry non-immigrant-O visa. But I don't know if that's still the case today. Proof of money on the bank or income (if higher than 40K) couldn't hurt, I think. You will always get at least a single entry non-immigrant-O visa.

For the 1 year year extension you need to go to an immigration office in Thailand. If you want to get the 1 year extension based on marriage you'll need >40K/month family income.

Last reports were that a multi entry Non O Visa if you are married to a Thai could be got from Singapore with 400,000 Baht in a bank. KL a bit hit and miss. Penang with cash in a bank , though not any definate amount.

Would probably only get a single entry in Laos. No proof of money needed.

As said to extend in Thailand would need 40,000 Baht monthly family income.
