Sorry if this has been covered before. I'm here as a teacher, with non-imm b visa & work permit. I'm considering investing in a business in Chiang Mai when my teaching contract is up next year. I have no plans to actually work at the business in question (no wages) but I wonder if you need a certain kind of visa just to invest funds and receive whatever returns there might be on the investment. Does that still count as work in the eyes of the Thai gov't? Thanks for any help on this.

Believe it will depend on your status - if you must sign anything in an official capacity (such as checks) think a visa and work permit on that visa will be required.
